Samsung LN46A530 Display Issues

Hello everyone!

New member, first time post. Ive been searching this and other sites hoping to find a solution to my TV problem.

It started with a solarization issue, which led me to believe it was one or a combination of:

A bad LVD connection. I checked the LVD connection and didnt find anything.

Bad T-CON BOARD. I replaced the T-CON BOARD and this fixed the solarization issue. But then a seemingly new issue came up. See attached. I have vertical bands distorting the color?

I thought it could be a bad LVD cable, so I replaced the LVD cable (with another used one). Still the same issue.

Any suggestions or insight would really be appreciated!

Oh, and i forgot to add that i went into the service menu and did a factory reset. This did not help either.

I would first try and re-seat the ribbons from T-Con to the panel....
--Do this ONLY while set is switched OFF.

Could you try your set with the old T-con board (with the solarisation issue) and see how it responds?

Hello Tom!

I tried the old T-CON board.

Old T-con board is definitely bad.

See attached photo. Solarization is back.

Good, so in my mind this eliminates the panel and main board as a possibility, so your new T-con must have been bad. I'd contact the seller and arrange a return/refund.

I just tried this and am now back to the image shown in my first post.

So is the consensus that the new T-CON board is defective?

Yes... Both T-cons are defective.
Your replacement fixed the solarisation issue - but brought with it another issue.
To be honest, if I saw that, I would have said bad panel - so I am quite surprised.

Returned the T-CON board and now they told me they're all out. Does anyone have a recommendation for a reputable supplier that I could order from?

What are the numbers on the barcode sticker, that is the PCB assembly part number which blank board is stuffed with parts for the needed assmbly. Same blank board can be stuffed to create more than one type of assemblies.

Shopjimmy is the company that sent me the defective replacement board, they do not have any more available.
