Hey everyone I'm new to this. TV went out and i checked the power supply and thought that was the problem so i ordered one and put it in and still no stand by light or signs of life. Here is some pictures of the boards inside and as you can see it was built in March of 2013 cant believe that it already has problems. Any help or guidance is appreciated. Thanks

Do you have digital meter to check the voltages on those connectors between the power supply board and the main board?Never stop learning

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
i checked the connecters and im getting reading's on them, there's nothing on the board to tell me what they are supposed to be reading, i just traced the lines from the power supply to the connecters and checked it that way, how would i find out what they are supposed to be?Comment

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
One of them should have 5V for the standby voltage which is always present when the TV is plugged in, other voltages on the power supply are turned on when the power supply receives the PS_ON from the main board.Never stop learning

ok i will check, the PS ON on the power supply has 5 volts on it i did check that.Comment

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
Are there labels next to the connectors to tell you what they are? I doubt that PS_ON control signal will be that high and it will be present only When the power switch is activated, otherwise it will be >1VDC.Last edited by budm; 10-26-2014, 08:52 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
What I am looking for is to find out if you do have standby voltage feeding the main board or not, so far you do have Voltage feeding the main board, so the trouble is in the main board somewhere.
To be sure if the T-CON is not causing the problem is to disconnect the cable between the main and the T-CON to see if you can get any indicator light to come on.
Fixing the main board will be real difficult.Never stop learning

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
Ok may sound dumb but is the T-con the one with the multi colored connecter going to it from the main board? if so i just dis connect that and see if i have a stand by light?Comment

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
Ok assuming the T-con is the one that has the multicolored wire connecter, its the only other board on there,i un hooked it and re plugged the power back in and still no standby light.Comment

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
Yes. There may be some 3-pin voltage regulators that should be checked, you should also inspect the board real well to see if you can see any thing damaged on the board.Never stop learning

Re: Element ELEFW502 New power supply and still no stand by light or turn on
Whoo hoo, I read that link you give me and watched the YouTube videos it had.I tried the compressed air trick after I found one of the voltage regulaters not reading like it should and bam red light came on. It wouldn't go off so I unplugged it and shot more air on it and it came back on , changed sources on the tv then turned it back off. It is one of the 1117 regulaters. Thank you for your help and guidance.after I change this out my kids are gonna love you!Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by shovenoseHi all,
I have a cheap rainbow christmas light set off Amazon which has this little power supply that has a button to change modes. I had a white set with the same power supply that I returned but I can't find any other rainbow themed ones that don't use this setup.
Anyway, the problem is every time you unplug them and then plug them in it reverts back to "Combination" mode which cycles through all these annoying tacky effects instead of going back to what you had selected or at least defaulting to "Steady on" which is what I want. So I'm thinking I can just...1 Photo -
Have had two Acer K272HUL monitors die with the same symptoms:
- Blue power light is illuminated while the monitor is plugged in
- Black screen (no splash screen, etc.)
- Power button doesn't do anything
Opened it up and checked for bad caps and components, evidence of burns, etc. - everything looks fine.
Power supply voltages are fine.
There are some signal lines on the power supply harness that goes from the power supply to the logic board, not sure what these should be at.
Anyone have any ideas?...-

by DXseekerMOHello everyone!
Tonight I picked up a Samsung UN65NU6900FXZA with a curious issue.
Symptoms:
1) Plug TV in to AC outlet, stand-by light illuminates briefly and goes out.
2) TV does not appear to turn on
3) Backlights do not illuminate, voltages associated with backlights on Power Supply are not present
4) "Power on" terminal on Power Supply has 3.26v
5) "A13V" terminals have 12.9v
6) Stand-by test jumper on Power Supply has 12.9V
7) Optical audio jack on Main Board illuminates
8) With stand-by... -
by sam_sam_samI have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails
I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time... - Loading...
