    LED TV question!

    Hey Guys ,

Got a question! Lately i see a lot of people selling LED tv's with a broken screen. Are those screens for sale somewhere?

I know its probably the most expensive part of the tv but i was just wondering
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

    Re: LED TV question!

Screens are the most expensive part. The cost if you could find one cost more than a new TV. With LED TV, a bad LED strip will cause set to not work.

      Re: LED TV question!

I figure most people buying expensive LED TVs with broken screens are doing so to play part in an insurance scam, where they claim on their house insurance that they accidentally damaged the item. I saw a 55" Samsung 2014 Smart LED go for £250 recently - that's about $400 - given the screens are pretty expensive I don't think they are fixing them. I can't otherwise think why someone would pay so much for such an item.

Given most UK insurance has a low excess (£50 to £100) and there are many insurers, I figure it's easy enough to make a claim then jump onto a different insurer and make another claim on a different item.

        Re: LED TV question!

Thx , was thinking the same! I had a discussion with a seller the other day.

He had a $650 LED tv wich was 2 weeks old with a broken screen. Something hit the tv and half of the screen was black.
I said i would give him $50 for the tv but he wanted at least $400 so he could buy a new tv….

Already told him that those LED screens are not available , thx for the answer!

Do you know if there is a way to test the LED screen as mine died and if a bad LED strip will cause the set not to work I need to know how to test the LED.

              Thanks

Issues with new Surface Pro 5 screens
                by diamon
I have three Microsoft Surface Pro 5 model 1796, with all cracked screens.
Have bought from Aliexpress three new screens, the part numbers from my and the seller are the same:

Bad working China screen part number:

Good working own screen part number

Error I get with the bad working China screen:

No error with the good working own screen:

All the three China screens (all the same exact part numbers) produce the same error in Device manager. Have also performed a clean installation...

Does anyone know about 16x2 LCD screens used in alarm keypads?
                by Ady2017
I have got an old Gardtec GT595 alarm which has got a faulty keypad with a failed LCD screen. This was apparently a very common problem with these and many people have had to replace the whole alarm because of this problem. Somebody claims to be able to repair the keypads by replacing the screen and I have tried it myself by replacing the LCD with a commonly available HD44780 1602 16x2 Serial LCD screen but it is not working. I am sure it is a problem with a driver or simular which is not allowing the screen to talk to the rest of the electronics. Does anyone know what this original screen was...

Dell Latitude 5420, Coloured screens from one colour to another continuous.
                by Dan20701
Hello all, I have a Dell Latitude 5420, before I upload the bios I thought I would ask. All I am getting is are coloured screens from one colure to another continuous that's all its doing.
I have searched on google some say this is a graphics problem and not a bios problem. I did try another bios file from the forum it stops at the Dell logo.
With the original chip fitted I am getting error code 3 amber and 3 white flashes.

                Any advice please ?.

                fixing flat two tv screens
                by rookiecap
I am trying to fix two flat tv screens. They have problems that I am not familiar how to deal with and if they are fixable at all.

                1) the first TV is RCA 32: LCD combo tv+dvd, model RLCDV3282A-B. It was distorting images in sync with sounds. The sounds were distorted too. Then it was shutting down automatically. I replaced all visible electrolytic capacitors on power supply board. After repair, the image and sound are restored but tv still shuts downs unexpectedly usually after couple of minutes. I do not know what to do next. What might be the culprit and how to trace/inspect...

Can I Swap Screens Between Two Hisense 75” QLED TVs?
                by ShahZaib Ghumman
                Hey folks,

I'm not a professional, but I do have a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to electronic repairs.

A friend of mine recently bought a brand new Hisense 75” 4K QLED Smart TV (75E7NQTUK) but unfortunately, he cracked the screen just a few days later. Luckily, he had insurance and got a replacement right away but weirdly enough, the insurance company never asked for the broken unit back.

So, I took it off his hands and figured I'd try to repair it myself rather than see it go to waste. I've been searching for a replacement screen but can't...
