    Sylvania LD370SC8 S TV/DVD

Neighbor has an issue that I thought one of you fine folks could possibly resolve. With TV on the left side of the screen appears like large block pixels. Everything within the set looks fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Additional info. When you first turn TV on the left side of screen has rolling horizontal white lines. When picture is displayed it looks as though they are pixel blocks extremely enlarged. From what I have read, the button panels are common faults and made no difference when swapped out. I have wiggled/tapped/VOM on everything and no change. Could this possibly be a video board problem?

I know these weren't a popular model, but someone had to run across something like this.

Neighbor is a 87 y/o retired war vet. I sure would like to give him a solution. Thank you for your time.

I'm guessing TCON problem, one half is stuffed, the other is OK... Maybe cables from mainboard to TCON are the problem (it likely has 2 cables) Try reseating them?

Dell ATX PSU won’t start, but forcing it works fine?
        by CapLeaker
Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB (Chassis SR) TV Repair Help - Distorted Subwoofer Sound and overall weird sound waveforms
        by LEECH666
        Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

RTX3090 working fine but fans not spinning
        by emil_t
Hello guys. I have a problem with a PNY XLR8 GAMING RTX3090 graphics card. The problem is that it displays and works fine, but the fans don't spin at all. The problem occurred when someone else removed the fans in order to clean it and broke one of the fan connectors. He replaced it himself and after that, it wasn't working anymore. I guess he damaged something else in the process. What i have done so far: I found 2 capacitors next to the connector that were in a bad shape, he must have touched them with his tools - they weren't shorted, but i replaced them with similar ones from a similar card....

TD Systems K50DLP8F works fine on 1 HDMI, bad on others

I have this TV set that I spent a long time fixing it.
I finally found a shorted SMD capacitor near the plug from the PS at the main board. It was shorting one of the main voltages (can't remember which one)
I removed that capacitor, and as it has another one in parallel, I left it with only one, checked it and it seemed to work fine. The solder near that capacitor was really delicate as I pulled apart one trace so I prefered to not mess much with it after I had to air solder one small thread of copper

I didn't use that TV much at that time. Now that I'm using it,...

MPG Z590 No display output with known working GTX 1060/RTX 3070, works fine with GTX 1030
        by kamiewtype
I have a customer machine on my bench right now that's stumped all the techs, so I decided to come here for help.

        The specs are:
        MPG Z590 Gaming Carbon Wi-Fi (MS-7D06)
        Intel core i9-10900kf
        2x16gb Corsair Vengeance kit
BIOS ver is E7D06IMS.1B0, from 6/12/2023

The machine was brought in because it would not POST after a GPU upgrade from a GTX 1030 to an RTX 3070. The customer also brought in the original GTX 1030, as well as a GTX 1060 that the machine also wouldn't POST with.
I tested the 1060 and 3070 on my bench (ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming...
