I have this TV set that I spent a long time fixing it.
I finally found a shorted SMD capacitor near the plug from the PS at the main board. It was shorting one of the main voltages (can't remember which one)
I removed that capacitor, and as it has another one in parallel, I left it with only one, checked it and it seemed to work fine. The solder near that capacitor was really delicate as I pulled apart one trace so I prefered to not mess much with it after I had to air solder one small thread of copper
I didn't use that TV much at that time. Now that I'm using it, it has 2 issues:
1.-Backlight is fixed to 100%. I can slide the BL setting from 0% to 100% but it still shows full light all the time. I can use it like this but it puts out a lot of heat and it shortens the life of the LED strips. I always tend to use something near 50%
But the worst issue I found now is when I use an external decoder. I had it connected to HDMI 3. It had a lot of image glitches, like it would lose the signal for a second with a grey striped screen for 0.5s and then back to normal.
I changed to HDMI 2, and the image was fine on this one, but the SOUND has lots of glitches like it cuts every 2...10 seconds. Really annoying.
Then I swapped to HDMI 1 (which is at the bottom instead of the side, maybe controlled by another IC) and both image and sound are ok.
Does this issue sound familiar to you?
Is it worth replacing the missing capacitor to see if it helps? I want to believe that its not related as one HDMI works fine, sound is clear, image as no noise, etc...
Thanks!
