SANYO DP50749 Clicks on and off repeatedly

    Hello,

when I turn this tv on, it comes on for a few seconds and cuts off repeatedly. There is a green LED on the SC board that comes on and cuts off with the cycling of the relays. There is no LED on the SS board. The panel will light up but seems dim. Again, I haven't had many experiences with plasma tvs. Thanks.

Well it's panasonic based panel and boards and if the panel is energising but this is cycling so I hazard a guess at mainboard. maybe logic board.

      Some clue reading this

      http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/57/...rd-pwbmainj4ff

This tells you not a lot

      Fixes following symptoms:
      -won’t come on
-green light comes on then off
      -no picture, no sound

After finding a service manual and reading online about others that had similar problem, I decided to order a hynixx nand flash chip with sw84 firmware preloaded. I'll see how it goes and report back. The location of this chip is at IC5057 on the main board.

tw2005, I bet IC5057 is one of the chips sold in that kit on ebay.

I received the new hynixx nand flash chip today, replaced the old one, and now the tv is working great!!! My guess is that the firmware must of gotten corrupt. Thanks tw2005 and others with this fix.

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
              by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

              A1708 820-00840 No boot - trackpad clicks - 20V 0.55amp
              by ahoonid
              Hi everyone.

I have MacBook Pro A1708 with a confusing issue.
The laptop doesn't turn on. Strangely, the trackpad clicks and fan spins. Caps lock doesn't turn on and no chime.

Initially, the amp meter didn't turn on at all on one of the usb c ports. On the other port, I got 20V and half an amp tho (no battery connected).
I replaced the bad CD3215 chip and now it works as well. Both ports turn on with same amp readings.

              The initial issue however remains.
No boot. No backlight. No chime. No keyboard. Only signs of life are clickable trackpad...

LG 50PK590 - three clicks and steady red light, won't turn on.
              by Noah Glasse
              Hi all,

I've got a LG 50PK590 plasma TV which upon plugging in will click three times and the red LED in the corner will come on and stay on, the TV however doesn't come on (no humming, sound, video, etc.) and using the touch controls or the remote does nothing. On exceptionally odd occasions, the TV will come on and work normally when plugged in and will last about 5 minutes before going back to off and unresponsive.

I've got the back off of it and none of the caps stand out as visibly buggered, I've also tested the three resistors in the corner of the power board which...

Looking for some help please. Samsung UN75RU800DFXZA rebooting, no picture, clicks
              by joel warren
TV was working fine and then just shutdown one day. It will not turn back on. I get a backlight for a little while, then it just clicks and won't fully boot.

I took off the back panel and did the basic troubleshooting and it seems like it's a panel issue.

The backlight will stay on if I disconnect either of the ribbon cables going to the panel. I've watched this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77tymvTJDxo) and am wondering if this could be the issue, just a bad cap on the panel.

              Any assistance is appreciated.
