    Sony KDL-46V4100 Ghosting/Flicker

Hey all - picked up a new repair, looking for a little advice if anyone has a moment. TV powers up fine, but exhibits ghosting. If the TV is moved or jostled, or lightly tapped (especially along the bottom edge) the TV flickers and sometimes gets slightly darker in the ghosting areas. Definitely seems like something loose around the edge of the panel. I've seen some videos where people open them up and tape down the panel edge somehow to fix this type of issue. Would that make sense here as a short-term fix? Thanks

Bad panel, tab bonds. You can try to fix it but it would more then likely be short term.

Just went through every ribbon connection to the panel. One, in the upper right-hand corner, is the issue. If I press down on the ribbon, oddly enough, the TV is perfect, the second I let go of the ribbon, it goes crazy again (darker areas/ghosting). It's extremely touchy. But it's the only one doing it. Any options, or is this one tiny ribbon killing this panel?

budm, just to clarify, you put the thermal pad between the metal frame and the panel, and the padding just keeps pressure on the ribbon/tab?

            Thanks

Looks like my ribbon issue requires pressure from the front instead of the top. Pressing down on the top makes things worse, so the separation must be on the panel-to-ribbon part. I'll come up with something using your method that will work I think. Tinkering time. Thank you!

I was able to secure it and it worked great for about 24 hours. Turned it on today and the issue is back again. Because of the location (front instead of the top), I have to wonder if it's even something that can be easily fixed with pressure/padding. Frustrating when something so small (and fragile) like the ribbon can be a killer.
