sony kf-50we610 DLP w/6x red flashing standby

    Hey everyone,

My Sony kf-50we610 didn't want to turn on all the way. I would hit the power button, the green power light would start blinking (6 times) and then start flashing red(6 times). I would hit power a few(3 or more) more times, it would turn on and at first it would have a very dim picture with sound. Then it would brighten up but have dim horizontal lines across the picture for about ten minutes and then would go away. After a couple weeks it stopped turning on all together. I have read that the 6 flash error code can be the thermal fuse or the G1 board. Also read that you can jump the thermal fuse and see if it will fire up. So, I cut out the thermal fuse and used a butt connector to connect the two wires and the TV showed no change.

I would like to know if I "jumped" the fuse properly? I assume it's like any other fuse except when this one gets hot it breaks the circuit.

Also the G1 boards are hard to find and expensive ,so there is a lot of repair services and repair kits out there, but what part of the board is the problem?
Have not been able to find a lot of info about the G1 board fix.

Thanks for any and all help.

Sony HCD BX7700dbi CMT flashing standby
    by rabbituk
I have got a Sony HCD-BX7700dbi that isn't worth a lot but I'm keen to learn how to repair and would appreciate some help with my train of thought. The protection circuit is kicking in and the standby light is blinking. It goes into protection mode within a second of powering it on.

So far the relay on the power board that enables the main transformer clicks on and then off when powering on the unit. Looking at the schematics, the permanently enabled power rail called 'unreg sub' provides about 13.5VDC. Where the power comes into the main board on connector CN303, there is a diode...

Replacing resistor fuse in Sony DV charger
    by corrize
Hello, I have 2 old chargers for Sony DV, and I found the same resistor fuse dead. Fuse is a crossing component : 0,47 Ohms (0,125W deduced because the lenght is 3mm). But I can’t find the same for buy.
So, I want to replace by another like 0 Ohms, 1 Ohms 0,125W,

It is the same please ? I guess it’s the same, the only change should be the time to burn ? Thanks...

    Sony KD-55X8509C white flashing/pulsing LED
    by stav242
I was asked to look at a Sony KD-55X8509C as it was not powering on, no lights.

On inspection, there was no physical issues.
I seated all cables and repowered the TV, then the LED light flashed Green / Amber.
    - this seems to indicate repairing required, done by Firmware update.
so downloaded the latest Firmware from Sony website and wrote to 4Gb USB drive.
Inserted the drive and repowered the TV.
LED changed to white flashing/pulsing ... and it sat there for over an hour.

i was unsure what was happening so repowered the TV and now it just...

    Hi all,

Error – TV not powering on - with standby red –led flashing
    Model- LEDTV – 39T3500
    Power boarD - shg3206a-101h

I have read through the Basic LCD TV and Monitor troubleshooting guides.
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthr...956#post305956, I am no ELEC engineer but can use a multi meter and soldering iron

In the meantime I could not see any damage to any caps on the cold side of the power board, so I have replaced all of them.

Unplugged the power connector on the board, I plugged the power cable in waited...
