    Vizio led tv

This past weekend I came across a LED Flat Screen TV, curbside Naturally I could not pass up this opportunity to explore new technology.
    It is a model VISO VW42L FHDTV10A. S/N: LQPBYGKO303318, and set # is 10235072022.

I believe the trouble is the power supply board. The part number on the board is P/N: 3BS0198313GP above that number is Model No: FSP234-2M101. Rev.1.

Attached are photos of the supply board and main board.

    I have determined that at minimum, two power MOSFET's: CRS101 (NF818) & CRS 201 (NF840) are defective.

Symptoms are no 5VDC , 12VDC and no lamp voltages.

I have no schematic , but would like to repair this board. Where can I get parts?

    Are replacement boards available?

This is an LCD TV not an LED. This is the PS you have and it's inexpensive:

Check the simple stuff 1st. Good visual inspection. With set unplugged check fuses for opens, capacitors for bulging tops or leaking (ESR if you have a ESR meter) diodes for shorts,Transistors and Mosfets for shorts.. Most of the time it will lead you to the majority of P.S. problems unless its some of the SMDs.

If no 5vdc standby, the set will not try to do anything. I have had bad diodes and capacitors go bad in the 5vdc circuit. Trouble shoot that 1st

After removing the two defective MOSFETS, I tried dummying (KEY WORD) in 12VDC at PINS 2,3 &4 OF the 15 Pin connector. I had 5VDC to start but now I'm afraid I blew something.

Thanks Kevin, and guys for the tips.

I'm going to order a replacement board from ShopJimmy Monday. Can't beat that price. Still if I could get a schematic, I'd like to see if I could fix my board.

Turns out those are not bad MOSFETS, but good Full-wave rectifiers. The problem is in another area. The saga continues.

OK, I took a gamble and lost. I replaced the power supply board (Shop Jimmy) and still no 12VDC. I disconnected the Back lights and substituted some 18Watt tube fluorescent bulbs but still nothing, so I think I've eliminated the back lights ( if not loading the inverter).

I thought someone said I should have 12 Volts as well as the 5 Volts for the set to power up. Or: do I have to power up some other way to get the 12VDC?

The main connector pin 1 is ps on/off
                pins 2,3,4 are +12 (but I measure 0 V)
                pins 5.6.7.8,9 are ground
                pins 10,11,12 are +5 VDC (measure 5VDC)
                pin 13 labeled DIM
                pin 14 labeled Inverter on/off

When I press the on/off button on the side of the cabinet I measure no change at Pin 1.

There are two fuses on the control board mated with this connector (one for the 5v supply line, and the other for the 12v supply line), and they check good.

I guess my question is: does the control board turn on the 12 VDC or do I need the 12 V supply running before I can turn on the set?

                Thanks,

                Eddie
