I believe the $25 is culled from the working board of a ysus/zsus combo sent in for rebuild. Conventional wisdom says when one fails the other is likely not far behind. Meh. I think i will order one and spend a few dollars more on active cooling for each heatsink.
What do you think about the NewEgg modules?

I also have thought of active cooling. There's at least one 2-pin, fan-looking socket thingie on one of the boards, and I know a computer shop that sells miscellaneous used fans out of a bin for about $3.00 each, so I can get anything I want for cheap.

Also spent an hour yesterday looking to upgrade the thermal pad, as it occurred to me that increasing the size of that pad might increase it's ability to pull heat off that board. The problem I found is that there are almost no vendors of 10mm thick pads. I found one, but I'm reluctant to purchase something blind from some company in China. Rather go with eBay, but could not find any eBay vendors with anything thicker than say 5mm. I also hold-open the possibility that the pad is "bad", given the obviously leaking liquid from it; I wonder if years of high heat has caused the material to degrade and lose it's magical heat-conducting abilities.

So, a source of thick (10mm) thermal pads is on the wish list.

    EDIT***
I take back my disgruntled sentiments on Digi-Key's search features in a previous thread.
Here's what I found so far:

The Newegg modules would probably be fine (who the hell can keep track of what the chinese are faking anymore...) if you don't mind waiting for the slow boat. I'm still waiting to hear back from Payless before I make my next move.

Update: the Coppell TV ipm is installed and working. I had a missing 15v line which turned out to be a bad connection but made me think bad module at first but all good now. For how long ? Who knows. No warranty is expressed or implied lol.
