Pioneer PRO-1110HD, chance to buy question.

    Hey all!

I know this is an older 720p Pioneer plasma, but this one was pre KURO and was rated one of the best made Plasma displays also was very spendy 15,500.oo out the door!

I have a chance to get one at 100.00, it was a victim of a power surge. The seller say's it comes on but no display.

    Is this worth jumping on?!

If you are going to keep it for yourself and confident that you can find a service manual and can do component level repairs, then it may be worth a chance?

If you plan on selling it, I doubt many people will pay the asking price because they won't know what a Kuro means in terms of picture quality. The uninformed will also complain about 720P, 10 years old, etc, etc.

PS. Ask the seller if they are flexible on pricing. That question always seems to get a lower price.

Is this a KURO? I thought this was the generation before KURO.

Anyway, I always Haggle when I am face to face its hard for someone to say no to you when you are standing in front of them waving cash in their face

I just looked on eBay for parts, I cannot find any unless I am not looking up the correct P/N.

I always agree to a selling price before I meet anyone face to face. Too often, I list something for say $100 only to drive somewhere, meet someone who is always late and get an offer for $50. If they won't agree to a price before meeting, then I won't go.

Then, I would pass if no parts are readily available and reasonably priced.

Valid point, When I initiate a meet up, I usually start out with " I would like to come out and look at your xxxxxxx so I can get a better assessment and make a reasonable offer.

Pioneer is a strange beast, I have only owned 1 plasma and I got it in working condition and its not even a TV is a commercial plasma display 4:3 for RGB modified game consoles (what I used it for).

I had a similar pioneer model, however it wouldn't turn on and the light would only blink indicating the problem. Turned out to be a bad ipm on the y-sustain. The board isnt multilayered though so you can desolder this ipm off very easily.

The older pioneers were great when they came out, but even an old plasma like a Panasonic 50PZ80, LG 50PS3000 will beat it on picture quality.

I might go out and take a peek, there is a 1130HD for sale too that is 100 in working condition that has one bad HDMI port.

Yeah the media box sells for at least $250 if you're looking for one

                        by pixelcap
Hello out there in Badcap land.

I have a Pioneer plasma that gave me the dreaded 8 red blink and shutdown, I have been trying to trace the failure points. On my last inspection while replacing a Y Sustain Board I noticed on the original and replacement board some missing solder, the points of connection
are from the Digital Address Board and the Buffer Boards. I have included the pictures, should I resolder these points or are they unsoldered intentionally? Any help would be much appreciated.

                        Thank you

                        Hi all.

I have 2 Panasonic plasma A boards for ST50 50"/65" and Kuro KRP 500A media box which needs repair.
I'm not good enough at component repair so I need some help.
A boards and especially Kuro media box is still very valuable and I can't throw it away like some average Joe,lol

I'm from Europe/Slovakia and I'm searching for someone who is willing to repair these things or some tips at least.

Both A boards have HDMI issue either no signal or flickering.
And media box possibly with voltage regulator issue which is common...

Pioneer Pro-FHD1 Elite. Failure to power on.

I'm new to this awesome forum, and have been reading like mad, but have not seen the answer to my challenge.

We bought this Panasonic plasma monitor 16 years ago and it has never been serviced, so all parts are original, and the unit has never malfunctioned -- until about a month ago. The system fails to power on. At first (a month ago) this happened rarely. We learned to unplug for a few minutes to drain the caps, then re-plug, and the monitor would start normally. Now, we plug-in, turn on the main power switch, and the...

I have been trying to solve the power-down 8-blink red LED problem with my Pioneer.

So far I have replaced the power supply board, and the digital assembly board, I have reconnected the ribbons to all boards, ensuring the connections are good. Even though the problem is the 8 red light error and not the more common 8 blue light error code, I had Kcrownie,
