Picked this and a phillips 42inch ambilight last night the phillips tv has a smashed screen so that's going to the tip but the screen on the Toshiba seems ok so I plugged the Toshiba in and was greeted with a dark screen with just the backlight on nothing else happens no menu etc when powered down with the standby switch then powered up again there are coloured lines down the screen which fade and it goes back to the dark screen and backlight could this be a bad tcon or isit another bad panel? Cheers

Can we see the whole back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected? It may be T-CON board problem.

Try unplugging one of the ribbon cables from the T-con board, one at a time. Could be shorted panel. If picture comes back in part it would confirm it.

Hi I tried the ribbons 1 by 1 and still no picture still has the Lines any ideas

Hi already put the tv back together and didn't get a picture of the t con ive got a stock picture mines exactly the same

Can't see anything in that picture; you're going to need to provide a much bigger one.

Check voltage as red circle on front pcb and post here.

I took the tcon board out this morning and just cross examined it with your picture of the tcon and it appears up9 has been soldered but its been soldered over other solder points would this be the problem?

Looks like it's been replaced before. Maybe it is bad again?

Ok what are the components called and where would I find them? ive looked up the numbers on them but nothing comes up?

Sorry been moving and the tv is at my mums from the pictures I have got the components say

Upon some research am I right in thinking these are dc voltage regulators? If so which ones will I need to get to replace them? Many thanks

Got new tcon board and problem solved working good as new again thanks for everyone's help
