    e601i-a3 backlight only

    What ive concluded:

The previous owner has an e701i-a3 main board in it and a ZG tcon board from hotpriceparts (off ebay). I went and picked it up and saw that he had the original mainboard and powerboard (bad sign). It turns on - with the remote. You cant turn it on with the button on the side panel and you cant turn it off with either after its on. (have to pull the plug). When I disconnected one side of the t con and left the other attached (vice versa) I did not get any change or picture at all. Have not connected any device to HDMI yet to test sound. I ordered another ZG board and an e601i-a3 main board that will be delivered on Wednesday - Thursday. Anyone have any ideas? I know the ZC is the old tcon board and that ZG is the new one they use but do you think the ZG and the e701i-a3 can talk to eachother? they have the same connectors. Would suck if the panel is gone....

    Re: e601i-a3 backlight only

Well I got the T CON in today and put it in there. The TV gives video but there was a vertical thin blue line down the right side - when I was trying to fix it (by looking at the skinny boards that connect to the panel I mustve blown the TCON. What would cause that vertical thin blue line to come up on the panel? I tried pushing down on the tab bonds and it didn't seem to go away. Please help

I know this is old but the contacts on the tcon ribbon cables get a film on them and these lines occur. I have the same issue and correcte it with a pencil eraser to clean the gold plated ribbon cable connectors and reseating them. It took multiple attempts.

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
        by Hakuu
        Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
        by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
