    VIZIO E550VL No backlight!

    Hi everyone!

My dads E550VLs screen used to occassionally go black, then come right back on. After about a month of it randomly doing that it finally went out completely. Sometimes you could turn it off and on and it'd come back on, but usually for only 30 minutes or so. I did the flashlight trick, and you can see the screen as well as toggle through menus. I also checked for sound via xbox. It appears to work perfectly minus no backlight. The next thing I did was take voltage readings with the tv on and everything still connected. I checked all the connectors on the power supply board. [ 5v , 12v, 18v, 24v ]I am at work right now but can post the voltages when I get back. I don't know if theres different "versions" of the E550VL but my dads is primarily LG components.

Any help or advise on what to check/do/buy will be greatly appreciated, i'll even paypal you or buy you a beer.

    Thanks in advance

I will start by checking the fuses on both inverter board, and the check for a short on the four output transistors on both inverter board.
