White screen and buzzing with Samsung PN50C7000

    Hello all,

So I have a Samsung PN50C7000 that has worked wonderfully for the last 4 or so years. Never had any of the other issues people have had (pink bands, green lines, excessive buzzing) and have been extremely happy with the picture. Recently though, it's manifested an issue with the screen and I have been unable to find any info on it. The issue is whenever I turn it on now, the screen is totally white, flickers a bit, and a terrible buzzing noise can be heard (loudest from the noise filter on the main AC power input). I suspect some component/board is failing but have no idea which. See the video here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xr31jf9n4k..._115640015.mp4

    Interesting details to note:
    1) It started kinda off and on at first. I would turn the TV on, it would flicker/buzz and then a good picture would come on and stay on the whole time the tv was on. One time after it went white and started buzzing I just cycled through the inputs a couple times and it came back up. It's died and come back to life three or four times now.
    2) After one of the times it died, I bought a new power board off Ebay and replaced it. Worked fine after that for several weeks, then it started doing it again and ultimately stayed broken. I have looked at both boards and can't seem to find any swollen caps, blown fuses, or anything obvious.
    3) When it is broken, audio is still working fine (you can probably hear it in the background in the video, I think Supernatural is on).
    4) Also while broken, in addition to the faint buzzing that I think is somewhat normal (sounds loudest from the logic board area) the main power noise filter buzzes like crazy, you should be able to hear it in the video.
    5) It's hard to make out, but there is a faint image retained from the last time I played Diablo 3 at the very beginning of the video. Interesting thing though is this was NOT the last image displayed on the screen before it died this last time.
    6) No menus pop up when you hit them on the remote, but it appears to still be controlling the TV (channels change, inputs change, etc.)

Anyone have any thoughts what component could be failing? I'd really like to keep this TV as I hate all LCD/LED pictures (this TV really spoiled me), and any new plasma with a decent review and more than 2 inputs is ~$1200. Not to mention it seems like probably an easy fix if I only knew what part to replace.

    Thanks all!

Thanks for the reply. I have not tried any test patterns. Is there a good reference to walk me through doing that?

So I tried accessing the service mode the way a few sources state (power, mute, 182, power) but that appears to do nothing. Speaking generally though, I can't see any menus at all when the TV is powered on. Even with no input when the TV is powered on you should be able to see a menu on the screen, but I can't. The menus are definitely there and switching though, as I can hear when I change inputs. So does this point to a main board issue? Logic board? Panel? Anything else?
