Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
Got another one with the same issue, its a sanyo cd42ld33 with the same mobo but this has a 17pw16 psu and slave and master inverters. The set would fail to start with the remote and will shut the backlight down after it heated, but the Bl on voltage and 24v still persists but the led on the front flashes just like my technika did. So I decided to starting checking the inverters as they were darfons just like my technika and lone behold I find two 054n50's that generate the high current ready for the transformers tha were leaky and where heated just plain go open, I replaced them with the same parts off another inverter, the set fires on with the remote and runns fine for hours on end, been running and turning it on and off with the remote for hours. Wish I would have checked the inverter on the technika could have been simple but I over looked it as I had many tvs I could use in its place, wierd fault but thats vestel for you hope this helps.

Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
I'd say stick it on gumtree for free or £10 so someone can fix it, it may be a bag of rubbish but if it can be saved from landfill, that would be best.Leave a comment:

Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
I have a few spare 17pw20's so when I get home im just going to swap it out and maybe consider repairing it, all these problems come on at once surprised it lasted 7 years with out a single problem so I cant complain Im going to replace it at the end of the year.Leave a comment:

Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
If you do want to fix the issue it's probably the little 15n capacitors near the transformer on the PSU, common fault on this model.Leave a comment:

Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
Got another problem now the tv will shut off during use, found that the 24v line is failing when it dies it causes the inverter to shut off and the speakers to crackle and the set remains in stby, tracked it back to the voltage reaching the rectifyer is too low and drops. Im just going to replace the psu, cant be bothered to track down the problem as I will be replacing the set at the end of the year.Leave a comment:

Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
If you put a Hitachi main board in this TV it will want a Hitachi-Vestel set of codes (they are slightly different.) You could try swapping EEPROM chip if it is in a socket. It's an 8 pin device mounted into a little socket.Leave a comment:

Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
the remote should not need programing to the board at all if a genuine/replacement one have you tride the camera phone trick to see if the remote is transmitting? is the remote the genuine one for the tv or a universall one.The only other thing i can think of is maybe the cable from the main board to ir receiver is faulty?
see toms post
i forgot you may have used another tv brand/make mainboard i usually just order for the same tv brand/modelLast edited by vinceroger69; 09-02-2014, 11:58 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !
It's more likely that when the set crashes, it forgets to turn off the video output. The software for these is barely functional with many bugs and glitches, the digital tuner being the worst. I had one Vestel where if you entered the 7-day TV guide, the TV would shut off with the blinking light, but it left the backlight on, so you could slowly see the image fade away (as the T-con power was turned off.) I've had them crash when feeding them 1080p at 24Hz cinema framerate instead of 60Hz. etc. Bad software design and insufficient testing before release.Leave a comment:

When I multimeter the 24v going to the inverter it reads fine so Im kind of pushing the psu out of the picture.Leave a comment:

by Mc_MillianHello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help my in pairing a remote with a Toshiba fire tv?
The Tv model number is: 50lf711u20 Rev B.
I've already replaced all the the circuit boards within the tv along with the I.R. sensor receiver.
I've tried 3 different remotes which should be fully compatible with this TV.
Oddly enough. A few if the buttons on all of the remotes actually work. Even without pairing...which makes no sense.
The power button, along with the volume, back, select, and directional... -
by unimatrix93Hello everyone!
My crappy Technika TV has a flashing red light symptom. Black screen, Voltages looks good.
Does anyone have the EEPROM bin file for this model?

by cstoutHello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.
The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.
I can't find any schematics... -
by edugimenoHi! I have this TV set that does the following:
1) I press the red power button on the remote
2) The TV turns on normally
3) After that it won't take any other command from the remote, neither power off, volume, channel, NOTHING
4) We need to either pull the main cable or use the built in button at the bottom to select funcion OFF
Then after it's off, it would again accept the TURN ON from the remote and same again
BUT:
-The remote does show the correct IR beam while observed thru a phone camera
-The TV works fine while using the MiRemote... -
by tmhobadcapI have this receiver for at least 10 years. Usually, we just use the remote for turning on/off and adjusting the volume. Recently, the remote control started not able to turn the receiver on. Later, the volume also could not be adjusted by the remote control.
At first, I thought that it was the usual problem which can be fixed by cleaning the contacts on the switches and the pcb. I opened the remote and clean it with alcohol. The remote did work again after that. But after one day, it did not work again. I opened it again and clean with alcohol and contact cleaner. Again it worked... - Loading...
