Re: Technika 32" Failing to start with remote !

Got another one with the same issue, its a sanyo cd42ld33 with the same mobo but this has a 17pw16 psu and slave and master inverters. The set would fail to start with the remote and will shut the backlight down after it heated, but the Bl on voltage and 24v still persists but the led on the front flashes just like my technika did. So I decided to starting checking the inverters as they were darfons just like my technika and lone behold I find two 054n50's that generate the high current ready for the transformers tha were leaky and where heated just plain go open, I replaced them with the same parts off another inverter, the set fires on with the remote and runns fine for hours on end, been running and turning it on and off with the remote for hours. Wish I would have checked the inverter on the technika could have been simple but I over looked it as I had many tvs I could use in its place, wierd fault but thats vestel for you hope this helps.

I'd say stick it on gumtree for free or £10 so someone can fix it, it may be a bag of rubbish but if it can be saved from landfill, that would be best.

Just an update I have decided to replace the set with a 40inch lg or sony as I suspect the tcon is now at fault as the set went blank backlights turn on but nothing is displayed so im scrapping it for parts as im putting more money into it even though I was going to replace it at the end of the year got 7 years out of it so im not complaining, thank you all for your efforts.

I have a few spare 17pw20's so when I get home im just going to swap it out and maybe consider repairing it, all these problems come on at once surprised it lasted 7 years with out a single problem so I cant complain Im going to replace it at the end of the year.

Got another problem now the tv will shut off during use, found that the 24v line is failing when it dies it causes the inverter to shut off and the speakers to crackle and the set remains in stby, tracked it back to the voltage reaching the rectifyer is too low and drops. Im just going to replace the psu, cant be bothered to track down the problem as I will be replacing the set at the end of the year.

the remote should not need programing to the board at all if a genuine/replacement one have you tride the camera phone trick to see if the remote is transmitting? is the remote the genuine one for the tv or a universall one.The only other thing i can think of is maybe the cable from the main board to ir receiver is faulty?

    see toms post
i forgot you may have used another tv brand/make mainboard i usually just order for the same tv brand/model

I've had them crash when feeding them 1080p at 24Hz cinema framerate instead of 60Hz. etc. Bad software design and insufficient testing before release.
Man did you fix them or throw them out, im surprised mine lasted 6-7 years and its been used almost every day so it has about 5 years total use time, but im not ready to upgrade yet, just the usual vestel garbage.

Ok here is a picture of the board and other parts, I think the mother board is a 17mb22-2
When I multimeter the 24v going to the inverter it reads fine so Im kind of pushing the psu out of the picture.

Toshiba 50lf711u20 fire tv remote not pairing
    by Mc_Millian
    Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help my in pairing a remote with a Toshiba fire tv?
The Tv model number is: 50lf711u20 Rev B.

I've already replaced all the the circuit boards within the tv along with the I.R. sensor receiver.

I've tried 3 different remotes which should be fully compatible with this TV.

Oddly enough. A few if the buttons on all of the remotes actually work. Even without pairing...which makes no sense.

The power button, along with the volume, back, select, and directional...

DeLonghi AC Remote only accepts 3V
    by cstout
Hello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.

The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.

    I can't find any schematics...

HiSense 55A7500F won't obbey to remote after power on
    by edugimeno
Hi! I have this TV set that does the following:
    1) I press the red power button on the remote
    2) The TV turns on normally
    3) After that it won't take any other command from the remote, neither power off, volume, channel, NOTHING
    4) We need to either pull the main cable or use the built in button at the bottom to select funcion OFF

Then after it's off, it would again accept the TURN ON from the remote and same again

    BUT:
-The remote does show the correct IR beam while observed thru a phone camera
-The TV works fine while using the MiRemote...

Pioneer VSX-522-K remote control not working???
    by tmhobadcap
I have this receiver for at least 10 years. Usually, we just use the remote for turning on/off and adjusting the volume. Recently, the remote control started not able to turn the receiver on. Later, the volume also could not be adjusted by the remote control.

At first, I thought that it was the usual problem which can be fixed by cleaning the contacts on the switches and the pcb. I opened the remote and clean it with alcohol. The remote did work again after that. But after one day, it did not work again. I opened it again and clean with alcohol and contact cleaner. Again it worked...
