Hi I use chip quik (ebay item number 221524424094)to remove old chip and a good regulated temp solder station with a small pointed tip ,that way you don't over heat the board with hot air you can remove surrounding items without wanting to,use lot of no clean flux taking off and replacing the chip, clean off the old solder with flux and wick and Q tip, make sure to line up chip and board marker , line up chip pins then tack on one corner, check all pin are in line then tack opposite corner check pins are all still in line more flux and solder the rest of the pins,I also have a digital microscope so I can check my work that helps as I can run it over the board to make sure all is looking good . There is a lot of good smd soldering stuff on youtube Flocko

Thanks for the follow up noledud, pleased that it worked for you as well, I buy my AS15-F chips from China at about £8.00 for ten and have not had a bad one yet. And I am now trying a new low cost low melt solder to remove them that is on eBay UK at £7.00 for 1M so far so good and keeping the costs down Flocko
