    Samsung LN46B630N1FUZA Blinking Power LED

Hello. I have a Samsung LCD tv from around 2009 and its worked fine until about a month ago when it crapped out. I at first noticed that after long periods of use it would refuse to turn on right after it had been shut down. To remedy this I would simply unplug the set for a while and try again and it seemed to work for about a month but with each successive attempt the waiting/cool down time increased.

The set now fails to power on at all. When I press the power button on the remote control the backlight will light up and the power indicator LED will flash five times from its previous solid state. At the fifth flash the backlight will then shut off and the power indicator LED will continue to flash five more times at which point the unit repeats the power cycle. Never is there a picture or sound.

I decided to take a look inside and see if I could spot any obvious issues. I visually inspected the components on the PSU and nothing stuck out other that what I thought to be some heat marks under one of the transformers. I ended up replacing the board with a used one off ebay but failed to fix the issue.

I also noticed that if I disconnected the ribbon to the main board from the PSU then the backlight would remain on indefinitely and no blinking LED when I would power on the set. Plus, all output voltages were present as indicated by the pinout labels.

I'm stumped on this and would appreciate any leads or insight. I have a cheap DMM and some Yihua hot air and soldering machine so I'm willing to go all in. Please let me know what info can be useful.

    Thank you for your time.

Was it similar issues? Any ideas on what's wrong component level-wise?

I got mine second hand with the affliction so I dont know what measures the original owner did to keep it going till it died. But yes I had pretty much the same issues hit the power on the unit/remote, power LED would blink over and over. I thought it might have been a PS issue so I pulled a working PS from a working unit and got the same issue.

I tracked down the fault at the CPU on mine the heatsink was not on it very well and it probably just ended up cooking itself after awhile.

These main boards are spendy but there are a ton of compatible variants out of several Samsung sets.

Just ordered this one. Hope it will work.

I didn't know there were other board models that could replace this one. Could have done some shopping around.

I got lucky with mine, I found one for under 50.00 but most are around 80-150+.

            Hope it works out!

              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
              by PantherDave
              Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

              Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

              by mrtek
              Hi

Picked up another TV. Samsung UN43NU6950FXZA. No power and no standBy led on. Removed back cover and:
              Main fuse = OK
Back light LED = OK. Power them with aux power source
              LED output = OK 156V
I do get 12 V DC out of the power supply going to the digital section but no 5V or 3.3V. PS_on voltage is only 1.8V. I have looked everywhere on the PCB , I could not find i reference for 5V output.
Also removed connections to panel, speakers and remote but no luck. One strange thing is that even with the LED power supply working, backlight LED do not turn on...

              Samsung UE75MU7009TXZG Endless Power Cycle

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...
