I have a Coby TFTV3227, with what _appears_ to be (now) the standard Samsung display failure problem.
I'm not posting photos unless really demanded, simply because I'm just trying to get confirmation that I have a dead display.
The display is model LTA320AP05, and the unit supposedly has the weird two inch square T-Con (which I can't locate. It might be under the front bezel), LG part number 6870C-0303B.
The issue is this. The top half of the screen is perfect. The bottom half shows horizontal lines. They aren't really obvious until something (like the screen saver bouncer, or the menu) displays. At that point, the top of the grey bouncer shows a colour - usually red. As the unit heats up a bit (less than two minutes), yellow horizontal AND vertical lines will form around whatever is being displayed - the longer the displayed item is on the screen in one spot (such as showing the source menu), the larger and brighter the yellow will get. The division is as close to perfectly half as I can tell.
I _have_ replaced the main logic board with a guaranteed new pull (broken shipment TV's). Unfortunately, I don't know if it was showing the lines before hand, because I was focused on the audio problem initially reported to me by the original owners (and I managed to explode the original board. No, I'm not going to explain, other than saying 'heat gun'. Laugh away). Power board is fine.
Anyway - recommendations? opinions? I don't intend to throw any more money at the bloody thing, but I will try to find the t-con board if it could be that issue.
Thanks.
