Samsung UE46D7000 vertical lines on top of picture

Hi guys, hoping someone might help me diagnose a fault with my tv. I'll try to include as much detail as possible.
The set is a Samsung UE46D7000 46" 3D LED, about 30 months old. Recently started getting thin vertical lines which appear to be on top of the picture. On a busy screen they're not really noticeable but on solid colours they are very prominent. For some reason if you turn the colour down to zero they completely disappear.
    Up to now I have:
    1. Disconnected and reseated all cable connections - no change.
    2. Replaced main board - no change.
    3. Replaced TCON board - no change.

Hopefully I have attached some pictures below to illustrate the problem. Thank you for your assistance.
Sorry, won't let me add more than one picture.

It looks like a bad LCD panel to me, which would make the TV scrap. This is a very common fault on Samsung D series TVs, particularly 40/46 inch panels. Sorry there is probably nothing you can do.

That's what I expected to hear unfortunately but thanks for your advice, damn thing cost me £1800 when it was new.

It's sad to hear, because it's still happening. My brother's top-of-the-line UE46ES8000 appears to have a bad panel (stuck vertical lines.) Out of warranty too. I did tell him not to buy a Samsung LED-LCD TV due to the high panel failure rate. It's unacceptable for the most expensive part in a TV to fail so often and early IMHO. This is common across the board for new LCD-based TVs but Samsung is the worst offender. At least you can fix the few plasma faults; most LCD faults nowadays cannot be economically fixed.

Warpig, i would agree 100% with Tom and it is a Panel fault. From what i gather you have had the set from new?

Fortunately, since you are in the UK you are protected by the sales of goods act which states that all goods must be fit for purpose for a reasonable length of time after sale - which typically is about 6 years for a modern day TV. As yours is under 3 years old you should be entitled to return it to the retailer and request a repair/ refund.

          Good luck,
          Demon

SoGA is an option - a right hassle but well worth a shot. You may need a technician's report if asked, you can ask a small local TV repair shop to write one for you saying the failure is unacceptable, TV can be expected to last longer etc.

Note -- you have to deal with the retailer NOT Samsung - though if it feels like you are hurting the retailer for Samsung's defective panel faults.

Agreed - i thought it unfair that even though it is the manufacturers fault, the retailer has to deal with the issue... Although i am sure there are processes in place to recover costs through from manufacturer by retailer!

I have had to get through SOGA once and managed it without a technicians report as i made it crystal clear that the fault was not caused by the user!

              All the best,
              Demon

Unfortunately this is where it gets even worse - I bought the tv from Comet who are now out of business. Sucks but hey what can you do. Think I'll just go to Asda and buy a cheap ass tv that will probably last forever. Thanks for all the input chaps.

Hey Warpig, Comet has gone out of business but there is another company they have had to set up to manage things exactly like this so you should still be able to sort this out.
The problem with buying a cheap ass TV is that unfortunately you will have even more problems!

Tom66: what do you make of this mate, just ran the built in test pics on the Napoli and Genoa chips using the engineers service menu and the lines aren't there, perfect picture, go back to normal tv and lines are back again on any input - Sky, Freeview, XBox.

Uh... well, that's odd. You changed the T-con though... so it could be unfortunate bad luck with getting a second T-con that was bad. Sometimes the patterns can hide the fault. On the normal TV screen, can you see if turning off Motion Enhancer makes any difference?

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
                          by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                          Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
                          by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

                          Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                          by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 w/ large vertical lines & no picture
                          by srs
I'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!

A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.

I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables...

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
                          by polaro
                          Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...
