well, for starters here's some info. each HDMI has it's own EEPROM. SO, IC4508 will be missing, plus q4503 and other associated parts.

    firmware wise I see this

    50C1
    IC1101 TVRQ600S
    IC4500 TVRQ603S
    IC4501 TVRQ604S
    IC4508 ------------
    IC8502 TVRQ590AGS
    IC8503 TVRQ594AAS
    IC9001 TVRQ587AAS
    IC9303 TVRQ589ABS

    50X1
    IC1101 TVRQ598S
    IC4500 TVRQ603S
    IC4501 TVRQ604S
    IC4508 TVRQ605S
    IC8502 TVRQ590S
    IC8503 TVRQ592S
    IC9001 TVRQ587S
    IC9303 TVRQ589S

Sounds good just thought I would shoot that out there as the boards do look identical except for this port is missing. You are right though-if the tv works again I will be happy.
Side-note, I added Badcaps.com to my contacts and now I don't spam them anymore.

As tom said, I think it would require the correct firmware chip which i'm not sure which it would be and also would have to go through and compare the schematic of the 2 versions.

Like I was hinting earlier if you want all the same then repair by modus for the extra $30 or so sounds cheap by the time you spend working that all out and getting an eeprom from panasonic and the risk of damaging the board working on it.

Could work out from the manuals what eeproms are different and swap from yours but a bad one of those can cause 1 blink too.

I think for you, if it gets the TV running again, live with it.

Pity about the old board, I'd love to have another 1 blink A board to experimant with but even if I worked it out no good for here, too expensive to ship to the US.

plonk it on ebay for $20, someone out there may be keen.

That will unfortunately not work as it will not recognise that port, it is not configured to do so.

Ok so if you click on the pic on SJ it does get pretty hi res. I cannot see a difference except the missing HDMI on the side. There is a spot for one but it is not there. Perhaps I could just install one someday?
Any way they sent me a 5% off coupon for registering and if I get the warranty it puts me over the top for the 15% disc. That pays for the warranty pretty much. I am thinking I will pull the trigger on this. Just waiting for them to confirm on how to enter my 5% disc.

no, not an expert. try contacting Modus and find out. i have read of people sending A boards in as faulty and then sent back with no fault found. they would charge for that testing though.

So if you sent it in they will probably know when they test it, if it was ok then that would only leave PSU but I don't ever recall reading a SOS 1 with a bad PSU but maybe if anyone out there has some advice contrary lets hope they voice it.

I honestly expect A board, there's only so much I know. If it does not work out sell the parts I guess.
Try a search for your model and the C1 version, maybe someone else has had 1 blink.

Thank You tw2005. You truly do sound like you are an expert. I am not sure I would miss the side HDMI as I have never used it before anyway. Does MODUS or that other link you supplied have a restocking fee if this is not my problem? A warranty maybe. Don't want to sound cheap but if this does not work I may just junk it and stare at the stars for a whil

looks like yours is rev AB, so you just lose the side HDMI port by the looks of things.

On a bad note, looks like SJ have changed their website, no more high res enlargeable photos that you could zoom in on or download.

That's a loss for identifying stuff, I used that a lot to get an idea when most photos posted are not good enough.

Unrelated-notifications are now coming but going to spam box. Yahoo mail so I went in and "unspammed" them but they seem to still go there.
I was going to suggest looking for something cheap to tip it over, don't deal with SJ anymore but glad you worked it out.

Actually i probably got that wrong, it's an input for use as a monitor. A pic or the revision as we can use the SJ photos, that way you get better advice but not the first time I've suggested this to get someone out of trouble.

Like you say, if they're not used and you just want a working TV with the normal basics it will work.

I thought their restock was 20%, $20 + return shipping

"you will be charged a 20% restocking fee for any new/unused product (up to $25)"

Just saw if you spend $100 or more, 15% off in August, sucks how this just misses out, maybe worth negotiating.

need either a picture of yours or the exact revision of it, they list 2 for the X1. Already mentioned possibly differences in earlier post.

Possibly cheaper one on ebay, also posted, for the $30 extra you get the right one, (yours repaired)

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
    by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

    Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
    by jm1234
    Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light
    by Alicat
    Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

    Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
    by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Panasonic Plasma repair - TH-P60GT50 - Dead, 3 blink code
    by rmacintosh
I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
    • Plug AC in to back of TV
    • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
    • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
    • If the TV is unplugged and then
