Hitachi 42PD5000 MPF7409 power supply fault

    Hi,
Have received a replacement power supply MPF7409 and still having problems and not sure if it is the power supply itself is defective.

I have No VS, and VA down after Up. The flow chart in the service manual indicates any of:
IC391,Q501,IC501,D510,Q502,PC501,PC502,D235,D236. and no shorts on Vs line.

Other supplies (5v, 10v,12v, 30v) are ok but are switched off as of no VS.

Gents from your experience should this be 100% power supply fault?

I have bench hooked the power supply. Applied 3v to Vsago, Vcego and PFCgo on CN69. Now have continuous 5v, 10v,12v, 30v. VA rises and falls. VS stays 0v. There are no obvious shorts in the above list of components.

Can anybody confirm that with this procedure I should have all outputs healthy?

Re: Hitachi 42PD5000 MPF7409 power supply fault

Hi you need to check if there is any Voltage on power 1 4.8V(pin 7) and power 2 3.1V(pin 8) from the back of the plug connector on CN 63 while connected to the power supply use pin 2 as the ground . These are the signals back from the main board.
The power supply must already be producing: STB +5V (CN63 pin 1 all series models)
