Anyone ever seen this fault before?

Ive seen the odd data-line on a Y-SUS tab and a few burned Z-Drive tab issues burned tracks, but never a completely (Both) burned tabs on an X-SUS side.

Set was a SAMSUNG PS42B450 Symptom looks like the X-Main/X-SUS is stuffed, with the odd electrical arcing noise, like static now and again.....

No, I had always assumed it was not possible - they are very solid connections! Can you show a picture of the damage?

TBH--Just got back from dumping the remains of the set--I had assumed you would have seen the issue with your huge experience....

What Looks like a fairly solid connection, just before the glass, its split up into 0.1 mm tracks that line up with similar 0.1mm tracks on the glass.

The glass side conductor is continued most of the edge of the panel, and I did attempt wedging some copper braid in contact with it--But pressed too hard--OOps!

Maybe this is what causes some Samsung TVs to get random dead lines on the panel - had always assumed it was the Y side myself.

Probably it is the Y side when you get the odd line.

The connection metallising on the glass is solid and extends outside the double layer. It only splits up into the 0.1 pitch--actually AT the tab connections....
Dunno why they did that, just makes a weak/high (comparative) resistance point-
-which seems eminently stupid when we consider the 200 odd amp pulse current through it!

Maybe they are Meant to fail. Planned Obsolesence.... It IS a Samsung after all!
