    samsung PN50C450B1DXZA

    Hi , i am working on a PN50C450B1DXZA when i hit the power button the screen flickers once but doesn't come on. The power supply will stop delivering power to the logic board after a few seconds, if i don't short the pins to turn the tcon board on. The tcon board and the y buffer board has been replaced from supposedly working parts. The next board on my list would be the x and y sus boards, would either of those boards cause the psu to turn off , like a disconnected tcon board?

    Also how do i know if the panel is shorted out ?

      yes if there is a shorted component on any of it,so disconnect both and see if your powers will flow

              i replaced both the x and y the panel and got magic smoke from around the y driver , i don't see any obviously blown component however i smell it . i am going to guess it is a shorted panel.

                  Hi There,

                  This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

                  After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                  I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                  Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                  I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                  The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                  With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel.                   I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

                  I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.
