Coming back to fixing this tv....power board checks out ok,fuse is ok..but yet it looks like I have no power to the tv since the standby light is off when plugged in...could it be the cord itself?

This is old and long post so let's start fresh.
Need voltages from connector that goes from power supply board to main board. Will need pin#- PIN DESCRIPTION -Pin voltage in standby-Pin voltage when pushing power button and picture of connector on power supply board.
                  Format:
Pin# - Pin Description - Pin Voltage standby - Pin voltage power on
                  1 - XXXXXXX - XXv - XXXv
                  2 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
                  3 - XXXXXXX - XXXv - XXXv
                  4 - etc.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

                    Re: Emerson hdtv troubleshooting

Working on the same board, observing similar symptoms, "all 5v" measures 4.4v when disconnected and 4.1v when connected to the main board.
                    P-ON-H2 is 0v
Not sure what P-ON H1 for and why there are two of them

                      Re: Emerson hdtv troubleshooting

Well I jumped the P-ON-H2 to AL +5v and the power board turned on just fine. +24v and some other voltages are present.
So it's the main board which is faulty then. It does not send the turn on signal to the PSU.

I have the same TV as in attached service manual by Budm above: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...7&postcount=46.
                      The motherboard is ba17f1g0401 4_1
Checked the AL +3.3v on the main board and it is present.

What would I check next? The owner said there was a power surge or something.

                          Is this your board?
I do not any pin out printed on the board for the P-ON+3.3V.

Board looks similar with 4_1 at the end instead of 5_1
there is no any markings on the board

P-ON +3.3v is produced by IC3001 on the main board, see page 45 on the manual on the link above

There are lots more caps connected in parallel to the PON-3.3V, some of them through the small inductors, not just what you have highlighted if look thorough the whole page, it is also fed to some other pages of the circuits too.

It is going to be fun trying to find out which cap is shorted out, there are so many MLCC connected to that line.
