    Sylvania SSC091 - no picture

So I think I may have buggered something up.

The video on this set was working, but the VCR did not work (it would attempt to read the tape, then eject it). I was thinking I could clean the mode switch on the VCR board and reassemble—I was able to do that and get it reassembled, but now cannot get anything to display (and additionally the VCR is not loading tapes properly, so I suspect I didn't get the mode switch oriented correctly when I reassembled it, but I will revisit that later).

I can see the filament glow when I power the set on, and audio seems to be working fine, but it now shuts off after about 5 seconds. I read that these models are essentially a TV added to a VCR, and so they will auto-shutoff if there is a problem detected with the VCR, so I guess that may explain that part. If I press the Channel Up or Channel Down button when it powers on, I get a green flash on the screen.

Any guidance here would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Set the program switch according to the marks correctly, the TV is now in video player mode and there will be no image until the player goes into stop mode.

So I think I fixed the switch, but there is still no video. I mean to say that the screen is completely black

old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?
        by eccerr0r
Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...

        Micro Momentary Push Switch?
        by Natob82
Great to be here! I'm a newbie here trying to find a "micro", momentary push switch to repair a Sony "clamshell" video walkman. This micro switch has long since discontinued by Sony, however I hope there are third-party switches of the same size and functionality that I might be able to source to play the same role. The purpose of this switch is to tell the video walkman that the user has activated the mechanical tape eject button, turning that physical action into an electronic signal that tells the tape transport mechanism to open so one can load or eject a video tape. I...

NEC TurboExpress On/Off Power Switch Replacement Help
        by grimacelord
        Hello,

I've been working on a NEC TurboExpress and I accidentally got the plastic inside the power ON/OFF switch too hot while doing other repairs and melted it. At first, it would still power on when sliding the switch, but you had to really press inward while sliding to get it to work.

I removed the switch component and tried to gently melt the plastic back so it would work more reliably and all I managed to do was make it worse.

I need to find a replacement On/OFF switch for this, but having some trouble figuring out which kind of switch I need....

Help making a switch work the opposite way with a relay
        by SluggerB
I have a very small float switch, I'm using in a very small tank. It only fits in one way. Link https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Switch.../dp/B07DZ1J2GB

I want the switch to be open when the water is high, and closed when the water is low. Unfortunately it works the opposite. And since this switch is designed to be underwater, it's all sealed up, there is no taking it apart or hacking it up.

It will be driving a water pump, basic idea, when the water is low, switch closes, which turns on water pump, when enough water is in the tank, float switch floats,...
