    Vizio V705-H3 Won't power up

This TV has the white light on the front. When you click the power button or hit the remote nothing happens the lights stays solid. I checked the main board for the voltage for that signal and everything is fine.

The power supply is giving 13 volts and 2.7 on AC detection. Zero on PSOn and nothing changes when hitting power. The led lines show zero and those caps won't turn on
it seems the PSU won't turn on to supply voltage to LEDs. The main caps sit at 170v.

It's odd to me the led lines go from PSU to main board and THEN to LEDs.. as a note.
I tested all led lines they are all 33-34 volts and working.

I tried to jump the 2.7ac line to PSOn and nothing occurs for PSU (probably not the right thing to do)

Anyone got ideas? I can't figure it if something is wrong with MB signal or PSU..

    Thx

this TV operated with Smart Cast. 13V always active at PSU. and you have it. MB are One SoC with GPU build in. need to inspect the MB deeply. USB 5 V 3.3V, 1.8V incase all fine. then you have BGA issue much likely on the SoC

Almost all vizios I come across are bad main boards if it’s not backlights. Usually the BGA chips needs reflowing.

on a side note I don’t even bother messing with Vizios anymore. There a pain to troubleshoot and nobody really wants to pay for them anymore in my area. So not worth my time

Main board was fix. Fortunately only $25.

Tried to reflow but didn't work.

you need to practice more with reflow... until now i didn't read from yours side you succeed once.

I've reflowed about 25x successfully. Maybe I did it wrong but I still don't mind some sort of tip if you have it.. I have a heat gun for electronics and uses flux. Roughly do in circular motion with light pressing .

              sure
at time you use flux, use cool air pressure to push it round the SoC.
Pressing don't use, i use always car paper painting tape to stick the SoC in place and recover all SMD parts around within 1 Cm distance to avoid any one fly out... use high temperature at time the tape burn brown to black its my sign to stop. when the issue BGA 100% succeed.. but if my BGA judment were wrong the SoC will never being issue so i do trouble shooting the MB again.

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

                Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
                by GLISIT
                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

                Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....
