    I doesn't have a separate replaceable t-con
It would be between the two flat white ribbons and the lcd board.
Right now your two ribbons go directly to the lcd board which is permanently mounted to the lcd panel.

        That's a panel problem.
        Loose connection to the panel.
You could temporally fix the problem but it would involve taking the tv right down to the panel.

you would need to take the tv down to the panel.

leave the boards connected to the back, find the screws that remove the black casing from the front. once removed, you should be left with only the silver casing.

flip the tv back over so the boards are now facing down, best way to do this is by placing the tv back into the back cover.

then find the screws that are on the front of the panel holding the panel inplace. remove them and slowly slide the casing off.

              you should now see these.

              http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/xHst6pKLtTE/maxresdefault.jpg

with the tv on gently appl pressure to them, you should find one that when you press down the picture comes back.

now the difficult part is how to get the pressure without holding your finger there.

some folk use rubber or silicone. wedge it into place with the panel casing. takes a few attempts but can be done, sometimes it doesnt last long, other times, if done perfectly, it might never happen again.

Re: LG 55LE5300 where is the tcon board?

Try to switch the two flat white ribbons first and see if the problem changes sides
Switch the positions on both ends. The one cable might not be long enough, so you might have to loosen the main board to get it to reach

If it switches sides, then one ribbon is bad

If the problem does not switch sides, disconnect the ribbon on the worse side to see if the better side clears up since it also has a problem

                    I doesn't have a separate replaceable t-con

If you changed both ribbons at both ends at the same time (swapped the ribbons places)
Then you need to change the flat ribbon
you need to measure how wide the ribbon is and how long and count how many contacts are on it

If you only swapped one end at the board then the main board is the problem with the inputs is bad

                    If you do not understand
post a picture with the ribbons swapped

                        Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                        by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
