    Jvc lt-42xm48

I have a JVC LT-42XM48 that will power on, but will not display any images on the screen(solid black screen). The backlights do light up, and if I change input to the tuner I can hear static out of the speakers. Channel/Volume seem to be functioning. I am not for sure what exactly is wrong, but I believe its something with the "Digital PWB" board. It seems like its not driving any signaling to the LCD.

I have attached pictures of the "Digital PWB" board.

Any assistance will be much appreciated.

Check the voltage on the t-con board, could be an open FP1 fuse. should be 12 volts on the v12v test point

Ok, I checked the fuse fp1 on the T-con and seems to be good(.5 ohms resistance), where do i test for the 12v, at fp1? I have attached a picture of the t-con board.

You can check for 12 volts on the fuse, there is a test point to the right of the fuse marked V12V . I usually check for signal on the lvds cable with a scope. but if you don't have one its hard to say if you have signal coming from the main board.

I checked the voltage right after the fuse and it is a very steady 12.01v. Unfortunately I do not have a scope to test with. Is there anything else I can check for?

Just for future reference, my issue turned out to be a faulty t-con board. I bought a replacement and swapped out the old board, and I now have a good clear image being displayed once again. I still have an issue with the hdmi ports not functioning, but I believe that is because of the stupid JVC "feature" that disables them when the back panel is removed. I just have to figure out how to enter "service mode" so I can re-enable them.

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
              by Hakuu
              Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
              by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
              by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
              • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
              • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
