    Pioneer PDP-508XDA Y-Sus fault code

This TV has been advertised locally. It has a fault code 7 blinks which translates to Y-Sus. Is there a common repairable fault on those boards or is it generally a Y-Sus replacement required situation?
The advertiser also has a PDP-505pg which they say "takes a while to warm up"? What does that usually indicate?
I wonder if the Y-Sus boards are interchangeable?

Boards are not interchangeable. That's 5th gen vs 8th gen.

RED blinks would be power down which could include Y-sus whereas BLUE blinks could be other boards as it is a "shut down".

The Y-buffers are bonded to the panel and are non replaceable, so if the Y-sus has caused damage the TV would be scrap.

8G Kuro is nice but nothing special, 5G is old school.

Thanks Tom. I've offered $50 for the Kuro 8th Gen. He tells me the plasma screen is basically worn out on the 5th gen model. Told him if I pick up one I'll take away the other for him! I'll take a risk on it probably. I have the manual for it Tom (PDP-508XDA) and it's not on your database.

The 5th gen is worth a bit if you get the media receiver and can be fixed by increasing Vsus - Freakaftr8 has a post on this IIRC. I saw a 7th gen 1080p 50" Kuro sell on eBay used for over £335 recently, collection only - that's about $550. They sure hold their value well!

PM me and I'll send you my email address so I can upload the manual.

Re: Pioneer PDP-508XDA Y-Sus fault code

With the original Y-Drive board I get 7 red blink (Power Down) code and no signs of life. The service manual descripbes this as being a Y-Sus fault. Have changed over with a secondhand board from a (hopefully) reputable seller. The set begins to start up, I get a message on the screen "Powering Up" then drops back into power down failure mode, but now with 5 red blinks code which translates to Y-Drive. Am I missing something? Aren't Y-Sus and Y-Drive the same thing? The block diagram only shows a Y-Drive board in the position where the board is that I swapped over. I'm assuming Y-Sus is integrated into that board.

Re: Pioneer PDP-508XDA Y-Sus fault code

I feel like some sort of newbie! I don't know why, but I exchanged back the original Y-Sus board with the replacement board and the second time around it's working perfectly. So I must have not pushed a connector home properly or something. Just been running it for awhile with the back off and it's producing a beautiful picture. The 5-red blinks actually translates to the Y-buffers as I read the consistency in the descriptions used in the Pioneer service manual. Maybe I hadn't pushed one of the board interconnects home properly? Anyway, it now looks like I have this magnificient plasma for about $100 ($50 purchase, $50 for the board). Might keep it!

Pioneer DEX-P99rs "No EEProm " diagnostic code.
              by dmccul2698
Hello, My head unit developed strange behaviors so I ran the built-in diagnostic package which returned "No EEProm". The service manual says there is no EEProm connected. I approached Pioneer and they said to swap out the DSP board. All said and good but the DSP board is $860 USD. I am hoping someone can help me

1). Understand the schematic and check the connections between the EEProm and DSP
2). Check the functionality of the EEProm

I don't know if this is the unit's problem but it's a place to start.

I have little to no electronic experience...

Neff C67M70N0GB-09 fault code error E300 - How to fix it?
              by mariukonie
Neff C67M70N0GB-09. After a power grid failure, when the operator turned the power back on, there was some overload, because the oven shows error E300 and nothing can be done, even the clock cannot be set. From what I knew, the operating module (the one with LCD displays) was damaged. Can anyone advise how to fix this? A new module is very expensive, so I would rather repair the one I have. Thanks in advance for your advice ....

Intergraph TDZ 2000 mainboard post code 2F/2E
              by Sorrow1
              Hi,

I try to repair an old Intergraph TDZ 2000 from 1998. It is a dual Pentum II machine based on Intel 440LX chipset. There is a non-removable bios chip named PhoenixBios B1787840. I cannot see any physical damage to the board. All caps look OK.

It shows no picture and POST stops with code 2F/2E regardless whether or not any graphic card is plugged in. If memory is removed, it stops on previous code 28/17 and stars beeping. I tested both CPUs in another machine and I also use RAM from another machine.

When I recorded video of POST card and played it in slow...
