    ProScan PLDVD3213A Woes....

I was recently given a non working ProScan PLDVD3213A Television. I repair computers, cell phones, game systems, etc but I have never repaired a television so I took this project on to learn a new skill. The unit could not even be powered on when I got it and I feel that I am only a few steps away from restoring it to 100%. The problem I am having is that recently the screen started to display a large blue area with vertical lines on the right side of the screen. One odd thing about this issue is that when you first turn the unit on it does not have the problem, but maybe a second and a half to two seconds later it appears. I have learned a lot about televisions with this project but this has me stumped so I turn to the minds of men who know more than I do on the subject. Thanks in advance for any and all help you guys can offer me.

Did you try flexing the screen to see if the problem will come and go?

My opinion would be that is a bad LCD panel. It is probably ultimately caused by tab bonding failure. May or may not be fixable, it depends.

          Magnetic Stirrer Project Reset

So based on some of the comments in my other posts, there seems to be some confusion or maybe some assumptions, I'm not sure exactly, so I wanted to hit the reset button on the entire discussion and make a few things clear that might not have otherwise been obvious.

First of all, the reason I post in this forum is that I simply do not have enough knowledge in electronics to do some things that I would like to do. So I post my questions in here and I try to be as thorough as possible MOST of the time, so that those of you who do take the time to respond, will be as informed as possible...

          Antenna...
          by SolomonMan
          All,
I recently moved to a very rural area. I am about 25 miles from the nearest urban settings (2 separate College Towns). 45-50 miles from a Urban City (Toledo Ohio)

There was a Omni-directional Wineguard Antenna (amplified) that was mounted on the house originally. Came with the house. Center of the top of Roof a few feet from Chimney on a 4 foot pole. The 75 ohm line went from the roof down 2-3 stories to the small Wineguard amplifier and then it split to the living room and master bedroom. Currently a Very simple setup.

Since we moved in, 8 years ago,...

T3610 Precision workstation recently stopped working properly
          by spike3333
          Hello,

I have a T3610 Precision workstation that recently stopped working properly. When the power button is pushed, the number 3 light turns amber and then goes out, then the power button turns white and stays on through the boot. At 3 seconds, the number 3 & 4 light come on and stay on for 8 seconds. Then the number 4 light goes out. Two seconds later the 1 & 2 light also come on (now 1,2 & 3 are on). 1 second later, light number 1 goes out and number 4 comes on. Then light 3 & 4 go out and then 1 & 3 come on (now 1,2 & 3 are on). This is how it remains....

CSE/Layout Project Error Message - FIT Tool
          by CapThatBrass
          Hi,

Has anyone come across the attached error message whilst using CSME System Tools v16.0 r3.

I've just loaded up an XML generated from the same application, and the error appears with no real clue as to how to fix it:

Exception: Error occurred whilst trying to create container CseRegion. Reason Mismatch between CSE version and layout project version
          Layout Accepts: 16.0.x.y
          CseVersion: 16.1.25.2128
          Source: CsePlugin: CseRegion
          Source: CsePlugin

Thanks in advance (hopefully someone knows....)...

          1986 Fisher television B+ Low
          by drunkendwarf
          Hi guys, i have a 1986 Fisher PC420 television. Chassis #A7R-42000

it works but has no picture width and some barrel distortion. i narrowed it down to low B+ 89volts. service manual says it should be 111volts.

it uses these Sanyo hybrid IC chips for error detection and drive that are discontinued and i cannot find anywhere. i found one post regarding a Sanyo TV with same symptoms and the resolution was the error detect module.

          Part # JU0161 and JU0148

i'm now looking at bypassing that error detect to the optocoupler circuit somehow...
