Bump. Gotta be a guru somewhere...

I was recently given a non working ProScan PLDVD3213A Television. I repair computers, cell phones, game systems, etc but I have never repaired a television so I took this project on to learn a new skill. The unit could not even be powered on when I got it and I feel that I am only a few steps away from restoring it to 100%. The problem I am having is that recently the screen started to display a large blue area with vertical lines on the right side of the screen.
