Re: Pioneer Kuro PDP-LX5090 7 blinks intermittent

I was able to rid the red tint and get the black level so low that I cannot see it except with the no signal display. When watching a movie it is completely gone. I want to tweak it more to see if I can sort out some black level unevenness on the no signal display (disappears with video display.)

    VOL SUS = 155 (from 128)
    VOL OFFSET = 140 (unchanged)
    VOL RST P = 009 (from 031)
    VOL XPOFS1 = 085 (unchanged)
    VOL XPOFS2 = 045 (unchanged)
    VOL YKNOFS1,2 D = 015 (from 143)
    VOL YKNOFS3 D = 110 (from 128)
    VOL YKNOFS4 D = 170 (from 128)

Conventional Kuro wisdom says to adjust all the KNOFS voltages by the same amount - but you get significantly better results by not doing this.

These voltages will vary for other panels but work for mine with 12,500 hours usage and 600 billion pulse counter.

Well done sir. So what program are you using to get into the TV via USB/RS232 connection?

My PDP-V402 has that RS232 port and most of the deep calibration options are done via that port.

I'm using CuteCom on Linux. You can also use HyperTerminal on Windows.

        9600 baud 8N1

Send: \x02**PON\x03 (\x02 is hex for 0x02, etc.)

        and set should power ON

        Then send \x02**FAY\x03

        to enter service menu.

Everything else is done with remote control. PANEL FACTORY -> PANEL-1 ADJ

Initially you want to lower the YKNOFS1,2 D until the red tint goes. As you do this you will start to get magenta stuck pixels. Then you want to increase YKNOFS3 & 4 D until the magneta sparkles go. If you start getting IR play with VOL SUS but do not exceed 190 or the set may shut down on bright images. Lower VOL RST P until you start seeing bleed in of black pixels when switching from 21:9 to 16:9 content.

I have a pioneer pro 1150hd with the same 8 blinking lights that would turn on sometimes but finally just gave the quits. Im not sure how similar these twoodels are but i have to imagone there similar enough to diagnose. I have already tested to power supply board and there is still power going to the main board and audio board. Thanks and if imin weong forum jus let me know

Pioneer Kuro Pro 111FD 8 blink red LED.

I have been trying to solve the power-down 8-blink red LED problem with my Pioneer.

So far I have replaced the power supply board, and the digital assembly board, I have reconnected the ribbons to all boards, ensuring the connections are good. Even though the problem is the 8 red light error and not the more common 8 blue light error code, I had Kcrownie,
based in North Carolina replace the chips that cause the 8 blue LED problem (the main board and audio board) the plasma is still powering...

Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

I would like to get some help on a 820-2850 logic board with intermittent charging problem. Sometimes the battery will charge all the way and sometimes magsafe would be cycling between green and orange.

I have already tried replacing dc-in board, swapping good battery, swapping genuine 85w chargers. None of that helps..

              when it is not intermittent:
              PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_R is 12.07v

              when it is intermittent:
When the light is green, PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_R is 12.99v
when the light is orange, PPVBAT_G3H_CHGR_R is 11.62v

              data line on the battery...

              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Pioneer PL-X9 motor speed control wobble
              by Bushcat
I'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...

Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.

BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...
