    Anyone who can help

I have a Polaroid TV ( Model P40LCD12 ) power supply : 220-240 V ~50 Hz 190 w..... My problem started with when i switched it on about a week ago with my xbox i got a red screen came up then faded into black . Everything works but if you have something on screen for instance when you bring up the tv channel at bottom of screen when you leave it it has a red hue which slowly fades away . When viewing tv there seems to be no red in the picture ...seems to be just blue and green working. I have just had it returned by a so called tv tech who said " Its your screen and he could not repair it " i have been trying to find out on Google what the fault may be and that is how i came across this great sight BADCAPS.NET..................I still get red hue even on blue screen , its been running for last 3 hours perfectly ..just no red in viewing even though you get the red hue ..........is he correct can it not be repaired...........Thanks Dod

It is hard to get an idea of the fault from the description, is it possible you could make a video or take a few photos of it in the fault state?
From what you've said so far, I would not rule out the possibility of a bad panel (bad screen.)

To me, that looks like a bad LCD panel (non-repairable unfortunately.) I am betting the panel in your set is made by Samsung as this is a common failure point with Samsung panels. (The rest of the TV is made by Vestel; Samsung only supply the display portion.)

Since the fault is intermittent you might have luck with a "tab bond shim" - however the success rate for this method varies considerably from model to model, and in general is poor for Samsung panels:-

Note the fault varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

took about 1/2 hour last night for color to settle ..left it on all night and color has not faulted...you can go any place on settings no ghosting at all ....just seems to be on initial start up.... could there be anything loose inside as I have not checked that yet as I was waiting for your advice...or do I just have to live with this until screen actually goes for good...

It will probably get to the point where it will not go away any more. As I linked above it could be a tab bond problem. Technically this is in fact a loose connection - but it's a solder connection between the LCD glass and the driver electronics. Applying the tab shim puts pressure on this connection. In some cases this can be a permanent fix but in other cases it does not last. I am not sure why.

I do agree with tom. But for kicks and giggles. You could try to turn off the tv and then turn it back on where its ghosting and take a hot air dryer to the t con board just incase but probably won't do anything.

Hi Tom ...well I had a look inside and you are right the LCD is a Samsung ...I checked the video and put in the "tab bond shim" but does not seem to have helped ...this is what I had after and the color does not settle down really now except when you change to tv but no red in picture but no red lines ....is it kiss good bye time to my tv..

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                  by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                  by smic717394
                  Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                  Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                  by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
                  by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️
                  by ipatch
i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...
