Samsung UN48JU6700F (Curved) blotchy and faded image

I'm wondering if this type of display error (please see photos) can be fixed by replacing the LED strips or would that be an exercise in futility because the panel has been permanently altered.

Notes: It turns on every time. Sound is good too. I have tried changing all the display settings, power cycling it, and resetting it to factory mode. Even went into the Service Menu but nothing worked to resolve these blotchy and faded images. Blotches do not move. The degree of image fade (dimness) always stays the same. Picked this tv up for free so I have no insight into if it was handled in a way that would trigger such issues.

LED strip replacement is affordable (about $35), but I don't want to waste time with it unless I can determine if that would be profitable.

Thanks in advance for any help / advice that can be provided.

Looks like you have quite a few lenses that fell off the led backlights, they can be put back on, just avoid using superglue that has that certain chemical that clouds up lenses. Important to get the lenses on in the correct orientation also.

Here you need to change the entire backlight, and not glue the lenses, so the backlight acquired a blue glow (degradation of LEDs).

I couldn't tell if any were blue, but if they are then they surely need changed for new ones. This tv being 7 years old, best policy is probably change them out for new. If the tv was newer there would be no problem just putting the lenses back on carefully in proper position with 5 second fix or the like. (which is NOT superglue) And yes there are glues that don't contain the chemical that can be used. AGAIN do your research and look into it, before jumping in with those positive statements that are false. same old SHIIT.

            Hello all ~

Thanks for the advice on this. Based on the overall consistency of the replies, I went ahead and ordered a full new set of LED strips. They should be here by October 13 or a little bit sooner.

After taking the tv apart, it was as expected in that approximately 1/2 the lights were blue (in varying degrees), but with over 30 of them degraded it only made sense to buy a full new set.

Note: None had actually fallen off.

I will post again after I piece it all back together and, hopefully, resurrect it. Thanks again, everyone.

              samsung ua55es6800 - no image

              hi
              having problem with samsung ua55es6800

tv had backlight on, sound working - responds to the remote control but no image.

check tcon board - had 12v in but no other voltages present.
when disconnected left ribbon cable - got back voltages and half image with lines and distorsion

when leaving only left side connected - again no voltages and no image.

put a tape on all (cd?! lines) on the left ribbon cable and got complete but distorted image (horizontal lines).

kept trying to block less pins on the left ribbon cable...

Samsung UN55NU7300F Curved TV. Half side backlight out. Fixed by just removing the rear snap cover
              by howardc64
TV was fixed just after removing Samsung's rear snap cover.

This curved TV's construction is rather interesting. When the snapped on back is removed, rest of the TV will relax the curvature. Top of LCD panel is loose as it wants to straighten out against the slightly curved bezel. Snapped back provide most of the curvature shape. So just simple disassembly of rear cover will allow the rest of the TV frame to relax its curvature. Thats probably what fixed it but no idea which connection. 4x LEDs are edge lit.

Maybe PSU->backlight connector didn't have a good contact?...
