    Philips 42pfl3606h/12 LCD tv - No display - no green led when coming out of standby

    I have a Philips 42pfl3606h/12 LCD TV.

    In standby mode it has the usual red led. When I try and turn on the tv the red led goes out and no green led to say tv is on. No display at all. No backlight and when I shine a light up against the sceen there is no picture at all. When switched on it is accepting input from the remote control as each press lights up the correct led on the tv. twice when I have had it "on" and pressing the menu button doing a test it made a strange noise like a flash and there was a blue glow from the back, but it rarely happens.

    I opened up and took out the power/inverter board (I think this model has power and inverter all on one board). I checked it for any bulged or blown caps,burn marks, bad traces etc nothing visually bad, that I can see. I'll check the mainboard tomorrow. Im trying to narrow the issue down to one of the 2 boards, really not sure where the problem lies.

    I found the service manual (Chassis - TPM6.1E LA).
    Heres a pic of the 2x boards from the manual

    The red led and accepting remote control input shows it is getting some power, but possibly not enough to start the backllight and image processor hence no green led when it is "on". However it could be the mainboard not producing an image so the backlights done switch on? Also the blue flash I saw, not sure what caused it. I havent figured out how to test the sound on it also, as I cant see the screen to change to a hdmi channel, also not sure if it will accept audio input without a picture (i dont use audio through hdmi, only devices I use are pc and laptop with a tv), the tv has inputs for audio, il have to try that tomorrow along with some remote control trial and error to find the hdmi channels.

    Any help greatly appriciated.

    Just so anyone with the same issue is looking for a fix. I replaced the SSB and it fixed the problem, couldnt narrow it down to a specific component on the board.

      Do you have 24V on power board?.
      Replace PFC ic.

          Hi guys. Newbie here. I have a PFL 3606H tv that stopped working (first both HDMI ports died and then the tv started turnig off until the day it died completely. I gave it to a local repair shop that said the SSB needs to bereplaced and they as for 200$ to do it, which sounds terribly expensive.

            I wanted to ask if you know which models use the same chassis (CHASSIS TPM6.1E ) so I could search in ebay for compatible SSB

              200$ is a bit expensive, i got an ssb for about €60-€80 afaik the 3606 and came in 42 and 32 inch models.

                      Hello, guys!

                      The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

                      Hello,
                      I have a problem with this TV, the standby voltage is not present. I have checked the components around the IC fsq510's area and they seem to work, also replaced this IC but the problem persists.
                      These are the voltages in some pins of IC fsq510:
                      Vcc=18v
                      D=320v
                      Vstr=154v
                      Unfortunately, I couldn't find the schematic
                      What else could I check?
                      Is it possible to provide standby voltage from an external source to allow the TV to turn on?
                      Thank you...

                      TD Systems K58DLX11US no image no backlight, standby green and red alternating
                      by Raulnn
                      Good afternoon! I have this TV with a Chinese combo plate. The symptom is that you turn it on and the standby LED goes on for a while, alternating red and green. In the end it remains green, but without image and without backlighting. I have measured voltages and they are fine, even the TCON has its correct reference voltages. I think it must be a firmware problem. What do you think?

                      Philips 37HFL5682L/F7 no standby light, incomplete service manual?
                      by jasonbay13
                      picked up a tv and when the power is plugged, the standby light flashes real quick then goes off. of 3.3, 12, 24v is all there but i couldnt find any 5v on the back-end board. ON/OFF is low, which it seems is what turns on the backlight so i removed the wire at the back-end board and put a 10k resistor to the 3.3v, which when plugged in brings on the backlight for a split second and also a blue light "LED1" on the inverter board, which goes off after a short time.
                      am i missing something to bring on the backlight or is the inverter/ccfl gone bad? would that cause the inverter board...

                      Hi, my TV image started showing those lines and the image faded away, but sound is still coming from it, what could be the cause and is it fixable? I thought it could be the tcon board but I red on the internet that it could be a failing panel
