    LG Plasma TV Model 50PN4500-TA

Hi Guys, I desperately need your advice on this set.
When pressing standby to "ON" then the Panel has a pre charge flash and further no image. The audio works 100%. I have the TV plugged into HDMI input.
I measured all the main board voltages and they are all correct according to service manual. I then went to the logic board and put a wire on the "Auto" to generate
its own test patterns. This works, telling me that the plasma panels are ok. After removing the jumper we go to having a black image.
I cleaned the ribbon from the main to the logic board, it made no difference.
I have used a scope to observe the signals going to the logic board and they are there. They are weak little voltages of less than a volt. But I cannot say if they are correct because the service manual; has no oscillogram images showing what to expect.
On the logic board there is 3.3V and 1.2V present, the logic chip get warm but not hot to burn you.
If the logic chip can self generate an image using the "auto jumper" can there still be an issue with it?
Or is my main board faulty.

    Awaiting humbly your response

The voltage on the motherboard is 3.3v and 1.2v, which is not enough; there should be more on each converter with its own voltage...

And also, the TV has been in a damp room or in the rain, the tuner on your motherboard has rusted, and the resistors on the logic have rotted, you don't know what's going on under the chip.

Hi Lotas, thanks for your reply. I have added board voltages for you to check but according to the service manual they are all 100%
I think you are right, moisture has probably corroded the BGA solder under the logic board. Unless you have something else to add I think i am stuck. No logic board available.
          Thanks for your help.

Wash the Logic board in a soapy solution and carefully, without fanaticism, clean the places where there was moisture with a toothbrush, then rinse thoroughly with running water, dry the board with a hairdryer and inspect the board under a magnifying glass for suspicious places, measure the resistance of the resistors - they should all be the same in resistance.
If you have an ultrasonic bath, that will be good.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
              by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

LG 60PK550 Logic Control Board EBR63450301
              by Yanleb
Hi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.

The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.

But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.

All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
              C57: 3.30V
              C61:...

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
              by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

              MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...
