    Sanyo 50749 PLASMA help!!!!

This is my 1st post to this forum so I hope I am doing it right. I have a sanyo 50749 that came in with clicking on and clicking off after a few seconds. I got the SM and started the troubleshooting. It narrowed down to the buffers. So I replaced both buffers and the TV turned on and stayed on and the picture popped right on, except it had horizontal lines, so I began reseating the ribbon cables to the panel.
After a few tries, I had the top half with no lines and most of the lines out of the lower half. I was unplugging the set time that I reseated the cables but all of a sudden the TV would not turn on anymore. It was back to clicking on for a few seconds and then off.
The power supply brings up the correct voltages when powered on before the set shuts down. I have gone back through the troubleshooting several times and it passes all the tests but the only way the smtp will stay on is with the LVDS from the main to the digital and the ribbon cables unplugged from the digital board to buffer on the bottom. Does anyone have any ideas how to determine which board is defective?

no, i made sure to unplug the power cord each time. the only thing i was thinking was if i didn't wait long enough from the time i unplugged the power to the time that i reseated a cable. what is puzzling me is that the SM says that if TPVSUS has 193v before shutdown that the SC board may be defective, but disconnecting the LVDS cable from the main to digital board and the ribbon cables from the digital board to the buffers on the bottom the smps will turn on and stay on

2014 LG 60" Plasma shut down just clicking unless I disconnect 17V line to main CPU

        LG 60PB66550 NOV 2014
        PSU: EAY63168603
        PCB: EAX65359531 2013.11.01 Rev:1.0

        Main board: EAX65399305(1.0) 13.11.27 PU42A/PA42A/PD42A

        Symptom:
While watching, just went black and started clicking relay every few seconds.

        Initial diagnosis:
Removing JUST the main CPU/Input PCB from circuit stops the clicking. No problems with any other boards/drivers. (Removing all other boards and only putting Main back in is all it takes to start clicking again)

        Deeper diagnosis:
Pulling pins #1/#2 (Blue/Grey) from the connector housing...

Onkyo-593 No power and now clicking sound
        by Sisko
        Hi all!!

Ok just got a Onkyo SKW-593 sub woofer that has no power person told me that it smoked and that his GF let the volume full when she powered off the amp and when he came to turn it on the sub played but then suddenly smoke was coming out, didn't say from where. So opened it up and saw a resistor made of metal (pic) but can't see any writing on metal par so what ever was written on it was burnt. So I'm kinda stuck here with this. I did ask for a repair or schematics in the other group section and waiting for this but I hope someone here might lend me a hand to try and identify...

Pioneer PDP-V402 - Black Horizontal Lines
        by Wf789
Hi, I'm new around here and hoping that there may still be some people on here that are knowledgable about plasma display repair, as some of the old badcaps forum posts have been pretty useful to me so far.

For any regular plasma TV I probably wouldn't bother to go through this effort, but I have a pro-grade Pioneer plasma which I really want to use and it would be a shame to throw it out since there's not many of them still around these days. The plasma has the typical black horizontal lines that seem plague plasma displays. I've counted 3 lines on top of the screen and 4 at the...

Sanyo DP5749 Plasma won't power up
        by canadaboy25
        Hey everyone,

I was given a Sanyo DP5749 Plasma that has failed. The symptom is the TV tries to start up and shuts back off about 3 seconds later. With the service manual I was able to determine that the TV is shutting down due to detecting a missing power rail. The 5V supply to the logic board is okay at startup but after a second it disappears. The TV shuts off shortly afterwards.

I traced the problem to a 3.3V enable signal from the D board to the power supply. This signal disappears for some reason which shuts a few power rails on the PSU off. The signal comes...
