    Samsung LN40B530P7N bad color/image display

    Hello, I have a Samsung LN40B530P7N tv that has a terrible picture display I have been reading and only found 2 listing on this forum about this tv and the issue that it maybe having I have tried more than a few things without replacing anything yet, but can't seem to get it working. and I could not get into the service menu screen that was listed/shown that is suggested in the post by hitting "mute 1,8,2 and power" and Look for options marked LVDS format which i could not find... here below is what the screen picture looks like...plus i disconnected one side at a time on the t-con board and those pictures as well as the menu screen that i could get to by pressing "mute 1,8,2 power

    I hope some1 can help me pin point the cause so i can get the correct part needed.

    picture 2,3 is with one side of the t-con cable out left then right

    I'm gonna guess bad gamma ic. But I will wait for bud or Tom to chime in.

      I would agree, gamma chip would be among the things I would test, however, I'm not aware of it affecting these models, only A-series, 2008 models. Not impossible, though - a pic of the T-con is necessary to highlight the gamma testpoints.

        Thank you for the quick reply. here is a picture of the T-con board

        I hope I can replace the board if that's it as I'm not very good in soldering ..lol

          Yep, it uses AS15 GAMMA IC, another one this week.

            Thank you budm... audiofreak19 and tom66 for the quick reply and help. I will try to find a replacement t-con board Because i'm not sure about my soldering skills.. i've tried a few time but .....just can't seem to get the solder to bond smh
