You get audio from the connected sources?

i tried the video on youtube where you connect the headphone wires to a IR from a remote then used the required wav files close up the the tv sensor which should in theory load up the 4 digit pin but nothing happened

            Re: Lg32ld490

Try reversing the IR. Also, make sure to turn up PC/phone/ipod volume to maximum.

You shouldn't need a picture. What code are you trying? Tried using IN-START from standby mode? Also, show us your set up - are you definitely using an IR LED... to confirm if the LED is working, point a digital camera at it, or look at it with your phone in the mirror, you should see a bright purple or white flash from it on a camera (invisible to the human eye.)

I wish I had an LG here to try that trick with my Galaxy S2. I'll see if I can do it with another TV. Sold both LGs a week a go :/.

Try the camera trick to make sure the LED is producing a signal.

If the output of the phone is too low, the LED will not light. Or a wire could be broken in the cable.
Try using a laptop/desktop, output may be higher.

                                    Cable is OK?
Check camera against known working remote.

Have you tried getting a hold of a URC3940? I keep one for TVs I don't get a remote for. They are £7 on eBay and will do almost any TV.

Plus they can apparently access the service menu... see here
