    Technika LED32-248 - Horizontal & Vertical Lines

    Hi Guys,

Got an LED with the following image problem (only occurs once an input is put in the main board - until that point the image is clear from a cold start).

I have changed the TCON and that made no difference. Are these main boards going to be component repairable, or am I best just swapping the board out?

I assume its the main thats gone?

    Cheers

It's more likely to be the panel with that problem. I might have the main board for the 40" version of this if you'd like to try it, but I would be thinking panel more than anything. (Too common of an issue with modern LCD & LED-LCD TVs, cheap panels = poor reliability.)

I thought the screen would point to being OK if the 'No signal' part etc was perfectly fine before something was place into the main board?

If its the screen, then this bad boy will be making its way to the landfill. lol

I can see the lines on the blue screen, even with "No signal"? Am I missing something...?

          Oh yeah - sorry.

The blue lines on the no signal screen are only present once you have put a connection to any of the inputs.

So if I turn the TV on from cold, it works fine and perfect until I add a source (any source) and then it behaves like this, until a cold start again with no inputs connected.

Hmm, that is odd. Does it matter if the source is powered up? Have you tried applying gentle pressure to the main board to see if there's any difference?

Found this TV again in the back of the middle bedroom, so took it out.

It works and fails sporadically. When failing, it does the following:
              TV Video Issue

Working fine at the moment, with occasional flickering like the video above. Gets really bad then back to OK for a while and repeat etc.

I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

                Hi all,

My TV had been showing for the last year some faint horizontal lines on all of its right side, about one out of each 4 of 5 rows of pixels. Not much of a bother, they were unnoticeable when watching a movie. Then, all of a sudden the horizontal lines became much stronger and crossed the whole screen, effectively making it a pain to watch.

I watched some youtube video where some guy "fixes" it with some tape on the ribbon cable of the t-con, so I tried that, but to no avail. Actually, after putting the TV back together again things worsened: apart...

                Hello,

                i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                Thank you for your help

                Hey everyone,

I have a Samsung PN50A550 plasma with a bunch of vertical lines and a couple black horizontal lines/bars.

I set the TV up to run the test pattern and all of the lines are still there. The TV also power cycles. It will show the white, red, and green patterns and then powers off and back on shortly after showing the blue pattern.

I doubt all of the panel drivers and a few buffer ICs would've gone bad all at once, so that leaves the logic board.

Can anyone verify my diagnosis? I would hate to buy a logic board and have it not...

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
