Well done and thanks. Sorry about the board two more fets to solder again!
Am expecting my 3rd buffer board tomorrow. The last two have had shorts perhaps 3rd time lucky.

I got to the stage, where I started checking the buffer for shorts,
before putting it in, as so many were arriving faulty.

Had to go to the garage and pull out a repaired Xsus
      for my test set.

It's odd, because I recall doing this same test on my B450 Samsung, and these Bush sets are basically the same. Mine didn't blow the X-main. It just continued on with no picture.

Just to keep you up to date with this repair. Received my 3rd buffer board for this tv on Saturday. Afraid it wasnt a case of third time lucky that also tested s/c on one of the ics. Will I ever be able to obtain a good buffer?

Tune in next week to find out!

I reckon the only solution will be to replace the ICs; probably 9 out of 10 boards are bad. The panel I pulled my bad board from had cracks all over it, yet only one IC was bad. It's probably a case of (say) 1 in 10 chance of an IC being bad, but there being 8 ICs on it, the chance of getting any one IC bad is very high (approx 57% in this example.)

Agree, have successfully removed an ic to aid in fault finding just got to pluck up the courage to attempt to resolder replacement.

The buffers,Ysus and Xsus that got my last Bush HD3 working came from a PS42C that i picked up with a broken screen off Ebay, i have one more 42c with broken screen in my workshop that has not been opened yet that been there for about 8 weeks, they are all over ebay for sale ,one on there now about 30min away for £20 did not sell last week and now back on again Flocko

Just to end this thread in the correct manner. The fourth buffer I received was ok! When fitted into the tv with original Ysus board and repaired xsus TV started normally. It seems that the Ysus board isnt normally at fault in this model as previously mentioned by Crtman. I can confirm his original diagnostics with this model if it clicks once its just the ybuffer at fault. If its clicks three times as in this case its the Ybuffer and Xsus board repair( 2X RJH30E2).

                          Hold that!

Some time ago, my son asked me to look at a plasma that had no picture.
Well the set duly arrived and it was one of the above.

Fault no picture relay clicking three times. "Hah I said" Y buffer and two Fets
on the Xsus Ordered parts and they duly arrived.
Soldered Fets in and replaced the Y buffer turned on to expect a picture.
nothing doing I herd a fizz and knew straight away that the Fets had shorted again.

On closer inspection I found that a Fet on the Ysus had a short on it (RJP30E2)
so I changed the board and connected up again and this time picture came on.
This is the seventh one that I have repaired and the first with the Ysus
                          fault.
So now and again there is going to be an odd one, that comes along just to confuse the issue

                              by FlailingEngineer
Hi, I was recently given a Bush Smart TV by a friend and the main board seems to be hanging on by a thread.

Before we get to that, my first obstacle was figuring out the model number since the back sticker has gone for a walk. Upon taking off the back case, I noticed the following Vestel parts, 17MB95m mainboard, 17IPS71 (what I'd assume is power supply) and a VES420UNVL-3D-S02 display panel. After doing some research I think the TV I have is a Bush ELED42240FHDCNTD3D, based on the matching image here (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/11...td3d.html#manu...

                              Greetings all!

Originally this set had the usual messed up video symptoms such as: horizontal lines, weak, grainy video, bottom and top of picture differ in intensity of problem. It also seemed to slow to turn on or show the messed up picture.

Seemed like must be YScan/buffer board failure. Ordered buffer boards from my distributor which were supposed to be original/new and also from another distributor, I ordered the YSUS because I wanted to replace it for preventative maintenance. (also, the YSUS had a bulged cap, so there was even more reason to suspect it could...

Need help identifying an IC chip on a Bush DAB radio (BD-1801)
                              by tyler123456
                              Hi,

Not sure whether anyone can help but I'm trying to identify the IC chip in the photo below.

I purchased a faulty Bush DAB radio (model # BD-1801) and identified that an IC chip was blown on it. Unfortunately, I couldn't read the manufacturer name / model number of the IC chip.

I purchased another (working) BD-1801 so that I could open it up to find out the IC details - but the IC chip details are missing (as you can see in the photo.)

Given the two huge blobs of solder either side of it I'm guessing it regulates power(?)

                              Anyone...
