quick plasma question lg 42 pa 4500
    by jimbofz
with the tv unplugged and not in use:
if a plasma screen has a yellowish patch or tinge
is this a sign that the panel is gassed
    or worn?
    its hard to photograph
but in daylight instead of being a uniform black,
it looks yellowish in the corner ,theres no sign of cabinet damage.

    Quick question about the ribbon
    by Rubenlily
    Hey,

So I have horizontal lines on my TV and I'm trying to trouble shoot. My question about the ribbon is:

When I disconnect one ribbon from the t-con I should get half picture working and other half black or something like that correct? But when I disconnect the ribbon on one side I just get a dark screen and it doesn't matter what side I disconnect. I just get the dark screen. No half working, no one half black and the other one left. Sound is playing from the TV so it's obviously on and when both sides are connected I have the picture with the horizontal lines...

another QUICK QUESTION! LG 55UH615A - Is this panel damage?
    by triplefour
im still waiting to hear back from the guy whos tv i posted a similar question about earlier. so i havent tried the tape cut off method on that tv yet, or any tv for that matter.

in the meantime, i bought this tv off of a guy who didnt want to pay me to fix it. i got it for 10$ i told him it was possible i could fix it with some tape but maybe he didnt believe me...or just didnt want to bother. anyway its mine now, to hopefully fix and sell!

could this be a similar problem? i think it would be a cool idea to have a database of different examples of panel damage videos...

QUICK QUESTION! P&F 55PFL7900 F7 - Is this panel damage?
    by triplefour
i have this question every so often when looking at a TV.
it LOOKS a lot like panel damage,
but could it be explained by something else?
could the mainboard or tcon possibly cause the vertical separation of the image seen in the video?
or could it be something on the panel driver boards that can be repaired?
i would love to hear what others think based on their experiences.
