Samsung LED UN55B7000 red picture

Trying to troubleshoot, unit powers up, only displays 'red' reconnected all ribbon cables. Thinking it's inverter board or panel, but panels usually show lines if there are issues. Was thinking last night might be video board and not inverter.
Anyone experienced this? I can't find any data anywhere.

Any menus, picture? Or just completely red?

It displays menu and other items, only color that passes are different shades of red

Since you have a US/Canada model you need press Mute 1 8 2 Power instead to access the service menu.

Read that post I linked, I tell how to determine where this fault is entering the chain of boards.
(But in place of INFO MENU MUTE POWER, use MUTE 1 8 2 POWER.)

When I access the service menu, The fault (only red & blue) is on FBE Pattern Sel and on FRC BeforeDDR, when on FRC After DDR it displays a proper gray scale.
So this indicates a faulty T-Con board?

I was originally thinking T-Con and was gonna post but I'm still a novice and don't want to give the wrong answer lol. Good to know a few steps I can take to confirm red screen/t-Con failure. Thanks Audio & Tom

I installed correct T-Con, it shows proper gray scale, but won't display any menu's or source names. Just a gray screen, it will go dark at times if I channel up or down, source input like it's trying to do something.
Is there a code to take it out of the original service menu format?

Also, any chance that I didn't seat the main ribbon cable correctly? I have the two ribbons on top that I assume provide illumination. Should I confirm the connection on the single cable is correct?

FYI, this was a OEM's version made for Costco, not an official Samsung so the T-Con was actually designed for 7100 series and the panel showed T550xxxxxxx as the supplier

This version T-Con board 35-D033892 had a bad chip labeled '100', when I received and opened the bag 1/2 of the plastic mount that secures this chip had fallen out. I'm assuming this is the issue and have to get another T-Con (3rd try).

Originally this TV would only display red with graphics. I could switch inputs and tom66 supplied procedure to diagnose a bad t-Con board. I've replaced 2 ea t-con boards, I have proper gray scale and backlight, but no graphics. When I power the unit up, the led flashes 6 times.

FYI, the 2nd of 2 each T-Cons I tried, delivered USPS and the mailman had it bent enough to fit in mailbox.

Any ideas?

So does the original T-con work? It's more than possible you received a bad board, but to get two is a bit of a stretch.

I was afraid you were going to ask that. I reinstalled the old T-Con and the original issue is present. Red screen, I'm going to try the service menu again . . .

I think you either got two bad boards (sellers just don't test them) or the post has damaged them.

Same issue, however when I went through the Test patterns, and FRC After DDR, the set had warmed up a bit, I had gray scale, then the left side of the screen went into multiple, multi colored, vertical brown and white stripes, never seen anything like it. I turned it off, turned on and it's back to the red display with graphics again.

If I switch between sources with the original board, I get the red screen with analog spots in the TV menu, PC tries to come up with gray, has blue, and a bunch of noise, switch back and forth.

I then attempted to disconnect ribbon cable to T-Con from main board, shows only gray and wouldn't return to initial red, etc with graphics until I powered up again.
Do you still think it's a T-Con?

Yes, since your test pattern faults indicate t-con.
Now, I think it's possible you either got a bad t-con board or perhaps the wrong t-con? Are you getting the exact same part?

Yes, and since the first one had a broken chip, and this most recent was rolled up for a mail box, it probably busted a solder?

Most US suppliers are out of stock, I do have one more to try . . . I'm an A/V guy (home theater), got into repair, networking and CCTV's a couple years ago. Most of my repairs are extended warranty for Samsung, LG, Toshiba, and a couple Panasonic's, and Mitsubishi DMD chip replacements. I have a 95% success rate, this one has been a bugger.
