Panasonic TH-50pm50u plasma with white line on screen

Before I tear into this plasma panal, any plasma tech heads might know what might have caused this?

There is a 8/9" line, when an active picture is going the outline of the line has activity but the majority stays white.

Busted panal or bad and fixable/repairable part?

I don't want to beak it down if the panal is bad as there is a lot to take apart.

Most likely it's a bad panel.

What's usually the cause?

The address driver ICs bonded to the panel fail. They can't be replaced because the flex is sandwiched between two layers of glass.

Bummer, pretty much no other possible bad part?

Just updating this, the panel is bad, the ribbon cable on the far right under the cooling fan was shot. I could touch it and the line would shift from white to black to multi color.


After a few touched the line became much bigger and I just left it at that. Plenty of good parts here I will just gut it and recycle the rest.
