    Samsung UN40D6000SFXZA LED-No Power-No Standby-Power Supply Issue

I have another unit that suffered from a lightning strike as well.

    BN44-0423A No Standby/No OUT voltage/No Power

SMPS seems to be the culprit. I can purchase another board but would like to try and see if I can get this one going without replacing entire board.

I've checked the Fuses(Ok), Rectifier(Ok) and Transistors(Ok) and have 120VAC coming in. Tested with CNL802 plugged in only to see if the LED display would light up but no go so I assume it's a SMPS issue.

Everything looks good on it, no visible damage except for resistor RP806, I've attached a pic. Looks like it's bulged out on the ends, more so compared to the other ones on the board.

I found a good quality picture of the bottom side and top side.

    OK, second round!
Just the board by itself and power applied, what DC voltage do you get at that 100uF 450VDC cap, measured right at the two legs? It should have about 160~170VDC.

      Shows good at 170VDC.

Any DC voltages on CNM803/A PINS? Use capacitor CS855 Negative legs as for your meter black ground ref. One of those pin should have 5VDC on it.
If the CNM803 as shown in SJ picture matches your board exactly, then you have CNM803A (16 PINS instead of 14 pins for CNM803).

          No 5VDC on either pins.

Didn't get anything on any of the 16 pins. Mostly started around 3 and dropped with - to 000

Yes, FP802S T2AL is beeping and the other fuse as well.

Any advice on what to check next? I put a bid on a board and won it for 35 but haven't paid for it yet. Wanted to try and do another test or two before paying for it today. Not really about the $, just want to learn. =)

Disregard. I just replaced it for $35. Thanks for the input Bud.

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
                      by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
                      by vincentedel
                      Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

                      QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
                      by Manucsl
                      Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

After reading some posts on this forum, I suspect an eeprom issue so I bought a CH341A to dump...

                      Display issue Samsung TV UA65JS9000W
                      by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...
