    Re: 37pd5200e smps

You plug the TV set in and it makes BOOM right away?

Or you plug it in it goes to standby then you turn it on and then it makes BOOM?

      Re: 37pd5200e smps

I can only get a standby green led solid on when I remove the cable that goes to to the io board.

The fireworks started as soon as I connected all the other boards to the power supply. Popped in the cable but as soon as I pressed the power button Bang

Luckily I orderd 2 set of resistors and an extra Mosfet.

        Same resistors shorted?

Sorry meant, same FET shorted? Did you replace the driver IC at same time?

Yes Tom same FET. Initially I did not change or check the driver IC picture uploaded in post#19. Since the bulb across the fuse went off when I replaced The MOSFET. I thought it would be safe to fire up with the fuse back in place.

Done some very basic testing of the driver IC. No obvious shorts. Will try and reflow in the next day or so when my Atten reflow station arrives and pop it back in.

I just realised that I haven't tested Q003 and Q004 in the PFC section as suggested by Paulsef in an earlier post. Will check too.

Could a short in any of the other boards cause the issues I'm having?

A short in the other boards should not matter.

I always, always replace the driver, regardless of apparent damage or not, even if it tests OK. Reason is, when the FET shorts, it basically shoves 300V DC into the 15V output of the IC... who knows what kind of damage that could do? It might not damage the output but instead some other parts of the IC, like control logic.

I also usually replace nearby SMD resistors at the same time.

                    64PN5500 | BN44-00618A Main fuse keeps popping
                    by nickgronk
Power supply board BN44-00618A keeps blowing main fuse and nothing plugged in to it.
I was gifted a 64PN5500AF, picture was amazing, but tv smelled like cigarettes and was dusty AF. I opened it up, blew all the dust out of it, removed PSB & main, and cleaned the metal underneath. Also blew all the dust off all other boards. Put the power supply back in, then mainboard. Soon as I turned it on there was a "pop".
                    The main fuse (T12AH250V) blew
I removed the power supply to be sure nothing underneath, all good. Soldered on a t12ah250v fuse and sure enough it popped...

                    LG 37LS5600 blows main fuse
                    by dimis7
                    Hi all,

Need some advice to troubleshoot this TV.

PSU blow the main fuse F100, 3.15A.

I replace the fuse with another 3A (but not ceramic) and blows it again after few seconds when i plugged in to the wall, with nothing connected to PSU, just the power cord.

I checked with DMM for dead sorts but didn't found any.

Checked bridge rectifier and seems ok.
Also check main filter cap with transistor / cap / esr tester (the usual cheap transistor testers from ebay) and found ok.

                    PSU p/n is EAX64405901 (1.6)...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                    by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
                    by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Samsung UN40H5003 boot loop every ~8 seconds
                    by eigma
Hi, I rescued a Samsung UN40H5003AF (H = 2014 FHD) from the curb. Symptoms are: standby (red) light comes on, stays on for 8 seconds, flickers off, then comes back on, and the cycle continues.

                    Service manual: https://www.electronica-pt.com/esque...is-u8la-71272/

SMPS board: checked voltages, all seem normal (A13V = 12.8V, UD = 3.3V, PWM_BLU = 0.77V, PS_OnOff = 5.5V). Remove 10p cable to main board -> backlight comes on. I think this means SMPS board and backlight are good.

                    Main board: BN94-07592P / BN97-08922R...
