RCA 46" LCD Model: 46LA55R120Q - Symptom: Verticle Lines throughout entire display

Verticle Lines are apparent over the whole display. They are multi-colored and very close to each other, about a 1/10" or less apart from the lines.

I have never diagnosed this issue before and want some input before I open the unit up.

Would be a funny trick for there to be a bad plasma display.... Since its lcd.

Yes they run on any display, menu, osd, inputs etc.

Checked the LVDS cable is fully seated - this is running between main board and t-con or main board and framerate converter (FRC) if the TV is 120Hz capable.

alright, I opened it up, removed and reseated all cables ribbon, lvds, etc. same symptom.

It's a split between the FRC board and the t-con in my opinion - more likely FRC than the t-con.

If I replace the FRC is it likely to be damaged by a bad tcon?

and just to be sure, the FRC is the green board pictured above?

Unlikely to be damaged. FRC is green board yes.

Ok... New board came in. The FRC came out of a TV that I was able to verify works.

The symptom is the same if not slightly worse. Still have the vertical lines.

Every day i surf and read almost a hour in this section. Never write cuz i'm still learning.

I saw this and i had to write.
This faulty its like 90% similar like a notebook/ video card that goes bad with gpu or memory.
If you think to buy one.
After try to reflow the chip and memory.

Is tcon the only left scenario? I'm on limited income and don't want to spend anymore than I have to.
