    Epoxy Replacement ?

What are people using for ic pin insulation when replacing an ic ? I don't think what is on there originally is the epoxy I'm familiar with as that stuff hardens like steel.

I'm in the middle of a buffer repair and would like to make sure there is no shorting/arcing when finished.

I have only ever done one. I used candle wax for testing. Then I thoroughly cleaned it and used neutral cure silastic. It needs to be carefully pushed in between the pins.
A flowable silastic would be better.

Thanks for that johnboy. What did you end up using ?

I'm tempted to use hot glue myself as it's readily available and I'm essentially lazy lol.
