      I did this test and it comes back with a short, with the top buffer board removed the bottom half of my screen works. I see no damage to the ribbon cable.

        The damage can be very slight. In my case I could only just see the edge with my eye - I had to remove the bezel to see the full extent of the damage.

          Tom66 you are correct, hard to see the damage to the ribbon cable unless you know what to look for or you remove the bezel.
